I’ve taken fluoxetine for over 3 months now & feeling the full benefit. It took 12 weeks before I began to feel the better. I was told 3 - 6 weeks by my GP. I see people upping doses or stopping after 2 weeks, but from my observations this medication takes quite a while to get in your system, but is good when it does. It may not work for everyone & yes, it’s not really understood how it works, but it does & has for years. It has saved lives. It’s not an easy substance to ‘get on’, but can really make a difference.

I mean = on my list of Top 100 horror films, it's #15 and most people would put it higher. But, if you're #15 on a Top 100 list? You're already solid gold. Wrong. We know who Michael Myers is, we are shown this in the very first opening scene. We know not only the name of this man, we know what he did, we know that he spent 15 years in a sanatorium and then ran away. We are literally shown all this in the first 15 minutes of the timekeeping. What's so mysterious about some random guy who doesn't talk, wears a mask and stabs? There are millions of other killers like him. There is a subtle moody atmosphere in the film, but besides that, it was terribly played and surprisingly devoid of any suspense that people say is there. I like some of the sequels of this film, "Halloween 2" 1981 and "Halloween 3: Season of the Witch" I consider masterpieces, but Carpenter's original film does not match them and is extremely overrated.

But you surly are unable do call a movie you are unable to understand overrated if your lack of understanding is the rease you call it overrated. You should give this movie the tital: movies i did not enjoy. You have nit given a real piint why these movies are in your opinion overrated, you only sayed it is not whst you like. That does not mske the overrated if you can not understand that please ceep your opinion to you. This is how you acutaly expose a movie as overrated: it follows - who runs with high heels and underware on the streets, just stupid. Where are the parants? Why does the thing get on the roof? The thing plays with the hair? What? It was boring. The story is not good. Why does the sexdemon only look as strange and pop out if it is intelligent? They never run far away. What kind of sex is the demon angre at? Only Penetration? Can homosexuals get it? To you give IT only to the first person you have sex with or all? Why is she in the pool if she does not know when it is coming? The acting is sleepy the have not much emotions. So the thing is stoped by pysical opjects but they never used that. It is misoganist. This movie is overrated and not scary at all and extreamly boring. And i hate that the selfishness of them is the solution, doom others to avoit the need to teal with it yourself, awful characters i did not klick with at all. I had a bad panic attack 5 years ago that put me in the ER. My doctor showed me a list of the different medications and their side effects. Celexa (Citalopram) seemed to have the least, so that’s why I picked it. I had some rough nights for the first few weeks. Went from 10 to 20mg after a while. Within a couple months I was in pretty good shape. I ended up staying on it for 4.5 years. Then I did a 6 week weaning off. For three months I was great. But then suddenly, and unexpectedly I fell back into anxiety and depression. So a couple weeks ago I have gone back on. 10mg to start and now back up to 20mg. I’m glad they exist in my lifetime. I can’t imagine how people coped before them. I’d like to try and get off again some day. But this time I think I’ll wean down much slower. Go from 20 down to 10 and stay on 10 for a few months, then a few months on 5 (cut a 10 in half). That’s my plan, anyway. But if I need to stay on it for longer, I will.

SSRI’s achieved notoriety years ago when it was discovered that frequently they seemed to help patient’s more than talking therapy. SSRIs were celebrated in Peter Kramer's contemporary classic Listening to Prozac. Kramer’s book was remarkably honest for its time. The book was a discursive memoir by a therapist who is forced to admit that many of his clients seemed rapidly to fare far better on a pill than on his industrial-strength regimen of caring talk-therapy. Science and medicine have advanced to where we now know that pharmacological intervention is initially necessary to boost the brain’s physical strength - much like a muscle. Once the “muscle of the brain” is strong enough for talk therapy, then - and only then - is the patient finally ready for Jungian Psychoanalysis and Behavioral Modification. So really, patients with tired brains are unable to profit from “physical therapy of the mind”, (talk therapy). First, the brain needs to acquire the strength necessary to undergo & profit from talk therapy. The SSRIs all differ in their half-lives, chemical structure, and precise specificities. Their functional effects are broadly similar, though Prozac is the most activating, longest-lasting, least selective and most likely to provoke dose-related akathisia; paroxetine has anticholinergic and sedating antihistaminergic effects; fluvoxamine most commonly induces nausea and has the shortest half-life; and, citalopram is the most serotonin-selective (see citations 2 and 3 regarding heart warnings). The mood-brightening, resilience-enhancing and anti-anxiety properties of the SSRIs really can make a (very) modest percentage of the population feel “better”. Unpredictably, other users feel worse. As a class, SSRIs (mostly) don't have the physically unpleasant and cognitively debilitating anticholinergic effects of the tricyclics. SSRIs don't demand the dietary restrictions of the MAOIs. Their dependence potential and withdrawal reaction is usually milder than the powerful opioids. Overall, SSRI’s operate by blasting more serotonin through the system than any other neurotransmitter. The result is imbalance, a flat affect (which typically diminishes motivation and causes power imbalances among the social fabric of the patient’s life), neuroleptic malignant syndrome, galactorrhea, sleep bruxism, decreased vigilance & tired brain , extremely serious extrapyramidal reactions, and the plethora of other side-effects for which SSRI’s are known (including homicide & suicide). It is important to realize that the efficacy of SSRI’s is somewhat less than that of even the older conventional antidepressants including the tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs). Two common problems limit the usefulness of SSRIs, at least when taken on their own. The problems stem from the indirect inhibitory effect sometimes exerted by SSRI style drugs on dopamine function, a consequence of deliberate selective targeting of the serotonin system. SSRI’s have a very poor performance record in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) which is believed to be related to its inhibition of dopamine in the mesocorticolimbic system. It has been theorized that SSRI’s causing a psychiatric emergency - Restless Leg Syndrome - is precisely a result of SSRI inhibition of dopaminergic systems; a condition corrected by bupropion (Wellbutrin). As we already elucidated in the Mechanisms of Depression section of this text, this is precisely what clinicians should not be doing: limiting dopaminergic function of the mesocorticolimbic systems. Rather we learned that effective treatment requires that we augment the mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic systems! Part of the reason for the effectiveness of Nootropic class drugs is that they stimulate all the monoamines including norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. Where many Nootropics enhances inter-hemisphere communication, SSRI’s such as fluoxetine (Prozac) impair it. First, SSRIs can compromise libido and sexual performance, often times lingering long after cessation of the drug. SSRI-induced sexual dysfunction can still be a highly distressing phenomenon for older people too embarrassed to talk about it. These side-effects exacerbate one of the major signs of depression: loss of interest in sex and reduced libido. Proper treatment strategies must not induce sexual dysfunction. SSRI's have killed at least 800,000 patients in the USA since January 2000. If it weren’t for the Citizens United case (the USA Supreme Court case permitting Congressional bribery by Corporations), and the fact that heads of pharmaceutical industries sit on the board of the U.S. FDA, there is little doubt that SSRI’s would have been banned outright years ago. Second, though a few subjects may feel mildly euphoric, in time most patients succumb to a flat affect and loss of motivation in their lives. What many treating physicians have observed is that the flattening of the patients affect by SSRI’s will more often than not, subtly change the "balance of power" in personal relationships - for good or ill. In some cases, SSRIs may even act as thymoanaesthetisers which diminish the intensity of felt emotion, both positive & negative, giving way to a “flat affect”. By contrast, a mood-brightening serotonin reuptake-enhancer like tianeptine (Stablon) may intensify positive emotion or sense of wellness & hope. Affective flattening may be welcome to someone in the pit of unmitigated clinical depression - But there are much better options light years ahead of SSRI’s. Succumbing to a flat affect is scarcely a life-enriching property. A recent analysis cited the specific serotoninergic mechanisms associated with SSRI’s for making patients worse. The researchers also found tianeptine to resolve depression in these patients whose symptoms were worsened by SSRI’s. By the late 1990’s, a backlash against SSRIs finally gathered enough pace to substantiate a flurry of lawsuits. In February 2008, a Public Library of Science meta-analysis of four commonly prescribed "second generation" antidepressants - using both published and withheld drug-company data - reported that SSRIs were scarcely more effective as antidepressants than placebos. The illustrious UK psychopharmacologist Professor David Healy delivers an even more damning verdict on contemporary psychiatry: "there is probably no other branch of medicine where the outcomes for a core disease are steadily worsening." [p. 95; Shock Therapy by Edward Shorter and David Healy (2007)] Today enormous class-action lawsuits are underway against the makers of SSRI’s - Soon to be filed against physicians prescribing them too! In summary, the old concept of a single isolated monoamine system resulting in depression is no longer tenable. This concept was frightfully over simplistic. Today science has extensively mapped out how physical (organic/histological) alterations in a CNS ecosystem lead to multi-faceted chemical alterations and neurosis. Replacing a single monoamine creates a further imbalance to this delicate ecosystem along with extensive negative side-effects. On the other hand, proper treatment of this neurosis begins with regrowth of key structures of the mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic system. In other words, the development and rationale for SSRI deployment were based upon a disproven myth. “The science backing selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, as an effective remedy for increasing serotonin levels in the brain and helping depression sufferers achieve mental ‘balance’ is entirely nonexistent,” warns a prominent psychiatrist in a new peer-reviewed editorial published in the esteemed British Medical Journal (BMJ)… “…the entire premise behind SSRIs and how they supposedly work is based on a myth.” Healy warns that the drugs, which have been linked to provoking both suicidal and homicidal tendencies in some users, have never been scientifically shown to balance anything in the brain. ” [Please message me for peer review empirical citations]

@@masculinerevamp144 Only USA uses SSRI's and Benzo's like Xanax, (because they make tons of money). The mechanism of the SSRI is on its face flawed: creating imbalance of a single neurotransmitter Nootropics are the option to take: they grow entire new brain matter! OCD is typically misdiagnosed in the USA. Often times the problem is the brain stem is not producing enough energy to power the brain. The child learns to compensate by producing more adrenaline. This compensatory mechanism continues into adult life. The adrenaline runs for days until ultimately, the crash. Thus, the feeing of being "Up" then "Down". If that is the CAUSE of your troubles - and I am not saying it is - then you should not be offsetting mental health with SSRIs or metals (eg lithium). Rather, boost power out of the brain stem; make more efficient its conduit in the upper brain; and, learn to manage (relax) the production of stress hormones as that is detrimental to health for a whole host of various reasons. Nootropics in that cause are one viable and very safe solution. However, the USA offers few of those. That is one of the reasons I voted with me feet and moved out of the USA for good! Best decision of my life! In the USA, drug pricing is a crime against humanity! For instance: generic Ibrutinib costs $86 in Australia. However, the same drug in the USA costs over $22,000 USD! Imagine the total cost to the patient requiring several rounds of Ibrutinib plus Obinutuzumab! Drug monopolies have (legally) bribed politicians [1] - And now use the powers of “life & death” to extort patients. Hi Tricia, great video and you look fantastic. I broke my nose several times playing football when I was younger and this is now causing breathing issues through one nostril. I have been on the list for septorhinoplasty since before Covid hit and now finally have surgery booked in at the start of November. I am apprehensive but your video has definitely helped ease my worries. Thanks 👍

Hey chick just wondering I'm due to have an op with the NHS do they ask you what you want your nose to look like or is it up to them?
@triciamulan5982
@triciamulan5982 3 жыл бұрын
Hi lovely! They can’t guarantee what your nose will look like but will ask you what your problem areas are and work on them. For me it was my droopy septum but he also said for the sake of balance it would be best to deal with the hump on top as well and the results were great!!

I am currently battling with agoraphobia which happened gradually over lock down, ended up quitting my job and locked my self in the house for 6 months I started to push my self slowly and joined a group online called one you which really supported me. I have been to a job interview in the last few weeks, been to the beach, cinemas, safari park, shopping I am so proud of my self. Thankyou for your video it is so nice to listen to other people over coming this horrible condition I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy ! It’s good to know that once you have beaten agoraphobia it is easy to go on with daily life, everything seems like a chore, I am constantly planning how far I am going, but for me the worst thing I have experienced so far is definitely sitting watching a movie, as the mind is able to wonder and not be distracted. Every day is a constant struggle but your video really inspired me to keep going, so Thankyou 💖

Thank you so much for your comment (and subscription!!) Lockdown has been the worst thing to happen to us agoraphobes. I have relapsed and working my way back out of it now. But knowing there are other people going through this is reassuring. It makes posting the video worth it. Wishing you well ❤️

I’m so glad you are doing so much better! Have you got any additional advice or tips? Mine is quite bad at the moment and I want to nip it in the bud before it can get any worse (I can still go within a certain radius of my home and don’t want too lose that small freedom)

Remember agoraphobia is a condition that affects less then 2% of the people in the world. I have lived with agoraphobia and panic disorder for 20 years. I believe everyone going through this now are people who are victims of fear mongering not actual agoraphobia

Can't thank you enough.. I had panic attacks 9 years ago then I started to develop agrophobia slowly... I didn't realize that it was a thing.. But definitely it made my life a hell cause everyone around you think that you like staying at home or they force you to leave the house and bring something but they have no idea that you afraid to death.. My older sister saw my Condition from the beginning but she start to forget about it.. I told my mom recently cause I had enough and I will start university soon 😢 but she doesn't want anyone know or feel that I have such thing maybe because in our culture you better not to talk about having any psychological health problems they'll think that your crazy.. You know still not educated enough about such topics.. even if you the one who suffered from this no one care... But I hope I overcome it soon and enjoy my life again 🙏😊.

I was prescribed Prozac a month ago. It’s day 11 and I have had a few short lived panic attacks pretty much every day but I’m trying to ride it out to see if Prozac works for me. I thought ssri’s in general had terrible side effects at first but then get better ?

It depends on your personal biolgy. Have you ever heard of the genesight test? It basically decodes what medicines you genetically can handle or not. Anyways in my experience, some ssris have no side effects, others do, actually most ssris didn't really affect me that much at all. What I would warn against would be pristique type medications, because I didn't have positives on it and the withdrawal was bad. Also, learn from me, when I was younger I was constantly having my dr switch my medication without really making sure the current one I was on worked. I would stick with them another month or so unless the side effects were too bad or annoying to deal with
