id build the same kind of snow cave when i was younger except after i made it i took a spray bottle with hot water and mist the hot water all over the outside and it created a layer of ice on the outside adding quite a bit of structural integrity

Reminds me of three fellow students back in 1967. They planned to do some winter climbing at Memututind, Norway in Easter. They arrived base camp and dug in. Hours later bad weather, snow and storm arrived at base camp (17 people died in Norwegian mountains that Easter). Rest of the week they dug out a full flat: dining room, sleeping, kitchen, lavatory, storage, even a chapel, … but no climbing.
