It’s the new furnace loop section on the map, go to ridethedbbb.org to get the real map, they tend to update it a few times a year.

Anyone have lockers? Ive been up old fincastle before and decided not to do the obstacle on top because I'm open diff. Didn't think open diffs would give me the footing to get over those boulders.
@sjoverland Жыл бұрын
We all had lockers, the Toyotas had e-lockers and the XJ had a mechanical one. Could be done without if you got a winch or a tug from a friend, but seems like whoever added all the small rocks made it so less equipped rigs can get through now. I would say mountain springs is more difficult to be honest.

I read that there is free camping anywhere along Spaas Creek Road -- did you see any good spots to pull off and set up? TIA!
@sjoverland Жыл бұрын
There is, but it’s minimal. I’d recommend just setting up a base camp at one of the campgrounds in the area. Koomer Ride & Callie’s Lake & Campground are just a couple examples.

No problem! Just an FYI I’ve been through this part over a dozen times at this point. If you go in the spring the water can be much higher if it’s rained recently. Just something to be aware of.
