Astonishing what little attention has been paid in north America to these Brit jazzists. All three had outstanding careers and a rich legacy of recordings. I mean Osborne, Surman and, not least, Skidmore. Moholo is no less known in Britain. I'm unfamiliar with these bass players, but my ears suggest that they do keep up. This particular number is .far. from the best in their combined repertoire, yet it's full of propulsion, stellar moments and harmonic felicity.

@@brothermiloo2 I grew up in Russia and that's where I discovered Citron (I live in the US now). I had the English version of the "Full of Energy" album. I didn't know at the time they actually sang in Czech language. To be honest, I liked the album, its melodies and riffs, and played it a lot, but like many others I always thought of the Eastern Bloc rock as inferior to the Western rock music, a "surrogate" for the "real western stuff". Only NOW, after so many years, I've realized how much effort and talent those guys put into their music! Living in a socialist Czechoslovakia, with a limited access to the western music and a very limited access to the necessary equipment, what they did was truly epic! I'm sorry that most of the original lineup guys are dead now 🥲 I wish I could see them playing live when they were still around, but it is what it is...
