So when a glider has a motor, is it still a glider or an airplane that can glide?
@MathiasSkærlund3 жыл бұрын
Its still a glider, just a selfstarter

Every plane can glide, just some better than others…. So is every plane a glider, just some have engines ? 🤔

Not a staggering rate of climb, but nice to have. Always a pleasure to see some flying videos. Thanks! Built a Murphy Renegade 2, myself. Kind of the opposite of a glider! Asymmetric frieze ailerons; push-pull controls with rod end bearings everywhere. CAVU skies to you, sir!

actually would not use it when its not really needed^^ at some point it could happen that you have no power and no thermals or upwinds to catch... i really dont know why they dont install solar panels on them so u can get more out of it^^

This is a terrible video. Your final was way too long and low completely unnecessary risk. You barely cleared some power lines and trees. Why?

Fantastic, what a dream button for a glider pilot-(like the X-button in Condor) uncomplicated, electric and efficient. Now all I need is a Discus 2C to build it in to.

Whatever the word is in the original language, it doesn't translate into 'holy' in English. I suspect that the word should have been 'reference'. It would also have been interesting to see the results here. Interesting video.

Hey, where did all the stress go? No more near-death experience waiting for the engine to start while you nose dive straight down in the field to get required speed? :-)
@1596357martin11 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's right, but there are different requirements for the two aircraft. The Stemme is a double seater with self-launch capability. This Front Electric Sustainer (FES) for the LAKs and Silents is implemented to give the pilot the possibility to return home with a descent climb rate, not to fly hundrets of kilometres.

That is the variometer. High beeps indicate rising air and low constant tones indicate sinking air. This is easier so you dont have to look at the instruments all the time when searching for thermals
