She was essentially pushed out due to Schultz's fragile ego. During their rise she was getting tons of attention and fans were wanting to see more of her, first she was just playing the Cello and providing some backing vocals, but eventually she was playing multiple instruments and her vocals were becoming more prominent. She was also contributing more and more to the writing, arrangements, and production. I started seeing them live very early on and watched is she was playing bigger roles during the show, but what stuck out to me is how the crowd would react to her, and then how Schultz would react to that. Take for instance when in this show she sang her first line, the crowd went nuts, I was at shows were the reactions were absolutely wild far beyond this, and I could tell Schultz was not happy. Several times he looked absolutely pissed and would even turn his back to the crowd. Same for when people in the crowd would shout her name or "We love you Neyla!" Then I started to notice changes in their shows, one of the first was that they were clearly potting down her voice, often to the point where you could barely hear her. Then she stopped playing all instruments besides the Cello, and she was even being isolated on stage. At first there was just a bigger space between her and everyone else, until eventually she was in that sort of fenced off paddock sort of area. She always seemed so happy and excited but as I noticed those changes it seemed more and more that she was just going through the motions, almost sort of sad. Then one show they were between songs resetting and I saw her walk over and asked Schultz something about what he wanted her to do, he visibly and audibly snapped at her saying something like "I dont care!". She recoiled a bit, not quite shocked, but with a look of "Seriously". You can see much of this yourself if you pay attention to their shows over the years, watch the body language, it became incredibly obvious. Not long before she left when the show would end everybody would hug each other on stage patting each other on the back, except Schultz, he would shake her hand without even looking at her and even just ignore her. Personally I always thought Jeremiah and Neyla were the stars, they always seemed to be happy, having fun, and enjoying themselves, while Schultz came off as arrogant. Heck I even noticed that in something as petty as their microphones. I noticed everyone had their first name labeled on each one, except Schultz, his said "MINE!"
