Listen to the episode of the Lex Fridman podcast with Cmdr. David Fravor who was flying the F-18 super hornet that engaged with this object. He breaks down this video taken from a gun cam, what the numbers mean, and what he was looking at while he was flying. Also, his wingman describes this incident in a 60 minutes piece from a few years ago.

When is the University of Utah going to distance themselves from Mark Harlan's comments. He should be fired!
@GRinKC2 ай бұрын
President Randall making whimsical videos are cute, but real leadership comes via your actions. Silence when the reputation of your university has been publicly tarnished by the actions of your AD and some of your fans is not leadership.

So what are you going to do about your AD and coach, Taylor?
@JeffreyBateman-y5s2 ай бұрын
Or how about your coach taking it out on that innocent chair? The chair scored just as many points in the second half as the Utes. The AD just wants his ball and to go home. 😭

Wow, they just don't get it. Terrible analysis for the BYU Utah game. And you're supposed to be credible professional analysts? You're supposed to choose and analyze based on the game of football. I played. I'll say this again. DEFENSE wins games and championship. Take away the rivalry emotions. Trash the emotions. Emotions don't win games. They mean nothing. That's not football. Football is executing offensive plays, defensive plays, and special teams. It's pure execution. It's having and proving the talent to do that. BYU has proven that over and over and over again this season, and still ya all supposed "analysts" are still stupid and getting them wrong. BYU has seen this Utah defense before, in this season. They saw it in K-State, Baylor, UCF, and OK state. They wear down good defenses by time of possession in the game. BYU possessed the ball for 40 minutes against a good UCF defense. Any defense gets worn down if they're on the field that long. Y's defense makes opponents QB's and offense make mistakes and cough up and over the ball, creating turnovers. This game being away at Utah makes no difference. Y's proven away games and fans mean nothing to them this year. And you all are missing the biggest football thing about this Cougar team. They love the game, they play for each other, they're veterans, and they have great team chemistry, and coaching that keeps them in the moment, game by game, and keeps them humble. No, not every team has those things. Few teams do. That's the difference. That's the point. That's what Andy Reid does for the Chiefs. This is why BYU will beat Utah Saturday night by a score that's around 34-13. Plus, where is Utah going to get their points on offense? They're terrible right now, this year. This has been a true football analysis of this game and these teams. Unlike these two so called "analysts" who's paralytically trapped in the old school mindset of choosing this game based on Utah's name. I'll say this again. NIL has changed college football. Conference names don't matter anymore. Brand names don't matter anymore. It's your choice to choose to continue to be stupid, arrogant, prideful, hubris, and just plain dumb in conducting your analysis, but you're both gonna lose your choices in this holy war game. It's the game of football and it's played by the players on the field on their teams. BYU is a real, legitimate championship team this year. Keep doubting them and you'll continue to look and be very stupid. Yes, I'm a BYU alum, '02. But this has been an unbiased objective game analysis regarding these two teams and what they're doing this year. The only analyst who gets this is Kirk Herbstreit. That's why he makes the big bucks and you don't. He's the only one who's assessed BYU in a football way, not in a brand name way. You all just like to hate BYU and not give them love because of their name. You choose to hate them because of their religion. That's fine. They and we don't care. It only makes you look really stupid as so-called professionals. I'm making big money betting this weekend on BYU beating Utah with a score of around 34-13, just like I did with the UCF game. Go ahead and lose your money. Or better yet, just send it to me. I love taking stupid people's money.

Yeah. I'm an optimist. Don't know if folks know this or not, but it was Spence Eccles who put an end to the 34-31 commercials that they did together. I'm happy that they could look beyond the pettiness and vitriol from the few and remain true friends up until Lavell's death. If I understand it correctly, Ron and his wife STILL check in with Patti Edwards on a regular basis. Now THAT is how to "rival right!"
