I have an SMT in Sydney as well - not many of us ... I was thinking of just an arrow mid pipe (have wings exhaust) - did you need to tune at all or just runs well without? Also any reason for power plate outside of keeping filters clean? That full system looks and sound great ...
@PissTakeProduction5 күн бұрын
The bike didn't need the tune. It's runs great and I'm really happy with the bike. Arrow make great exhausts if I didnt buy the Vandemon the Arrow was my second option. The airbox mod I believe helped with the exhaust to run way better. Awesome another SMT rider I'll be on the lookout with ya on the road.

What is a squid ? Hate to tell you , but most drivers are listening to crap music at insane volumes , probably watching KZbin at the same time on a laptop hanging off their steering wheel …they don’t hear a bike 😢

It’s just a term for a riders that wear shorts and t-shirt and no protective gear except a helmet. As for cars I ride to always be in front and away from blind spots from them.

Thanks for the review mate. I have bought the Arai xd-4 after your review. I have also gone through 3 helmets this Sept 2024 till Jan 2025. Nolan N70-2, Oneal Sierra 2 Both the wind noise is really torture with out the ear riding plugs. and last the Bell DX9 also a good lid but riding in summer high temp really hot inside. I purchased the Arai XD-4 for summer riding, the vents are excellent when the temperature in Sydney reached the 30's this Jan. The Bell DX9 I'll Keep for Winter riding.

Awesome. Yer it's a good helmet. I did find at High speeds vibration gives an itchy nose but if you have a good screen on the bike less likely to happen. I haven't looked but has XD5 replaced all XD4 Helmets yet?

does the starter gear spin freely on the NiceCNC Oil Starter Cover spacer?? i think it is not spinning freely like the original oem ones...

Mines does. From what I know the first gen cover was not a good fit. Message NiceCNC and ask them. I did see a guy on YT have an issue and they fixed it. But mines good ok.

Doing this now. I dknt like rhe way exhaust springs install on inner part of flange. Seems to interfere with head. Can you confirm spring orientation? Outer flange top hole, inner flange bottom hole for spring. Putting in top hole inside way too tight
@PissTakeProductionАй бұрын
Hey Sam. I put the left pipe header with spring clip on top hole then on the right lower. On the right header pipe I had to put the spring on the upper hole and left on the upper too. What happened with me the spring on the right pipe left snagged so I moved it to the upper hole. Yes I would probably prefer the spring all even but thats what worked for me.

Sounds great. Did u lose any mid-range torque?
@PissTakeProductionАй бұрын
It gained much more. The emissions restriction on the stock exhaust truly limit the engine. Before heat radiated off the exhaust sides & now reduced with the titanium. Definitely the way to go. Now doesn't force the engine with the captured emissions. I highly recommend this change.

Fantastic sound PT! Strangest things changing exhaust systems, the completely transform great motorcycles to another level. Either breathes better & a ton lighter. Definitely worth installing them yourself to offset the cost of the system. Patience, time & good tools. It still has a cat yeah?
@PissTakeProductionАй бұрын
The cats gone. vandemon call it a resonator. It does have a baffle system but sound is perfect. Yer 2 days it took me. KTM is crazy what you have to take off to install the headers. Yer easily would add over $1k for install labour.

So glad you didn't rev it during the first start up. They say to give the ECU 10mins to readjust. Ive read this before on another exhaust system brand. I wonder if you can fit a larger diameter washer to cover the slot mismatch? I understand tolerances, but a mismatch looks like a mistake.
@PissTakeProductionАй бұрын
Yer 10mm out with the exhaust connected to the resonator. I'm talking with Vandemon on a fix. Yer the good news I don't have to tune it. It's definitely makes the bike the stock exhaust traps all the heat in and the Vandemon system really improves the bike.
@stevesane800Ай бұрын
Fiddly job, but well done! Do the down tubes separate from the header pipes? The best part about these is the use of springs as long as you have a decent spring puller. I have one since ive had my KTM vack in 2005
@PissTakeProductionАй бұрын
Yer they separate left slots into the right.
