I used to go to the Bug-ins in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. They had huge turnouts and participation. I've got my old dash plaques from those days on my fridge as a reminder of the good old days. Good times! Thanks, Rich!

I remember Mario's first band as a teenager. At a house party in Bermuda Dunes, California, c. '82-3. They were called DEAD ISSUE. Scott Reeder, later the bassist for KYUSS, was on drums. Cool to see Indio High School locals kick ass. (Not to mention Palm Desert and Palm Springs High as well.)

yea I am one of those guys from almost like new york Riverside 40 miles east of BFY. I worked next door to Darrel VIttone and met Joe Vittone.(founder and tester of empi) I worked at the shop that painted every famous vw race car there was in the 60s and 70s. Funny thing is I never really met rich kimball but always saw him. His Wife is best friends with one of my best friends sister. never knew that until a few years ago when he died. She mentioned it to me but at the time when I wasnt going to vw shows. It is just funny how 2 different circles never interlocked from the Riverside CA and the Orange county crews. We usually know who they are but mostly never met. I have a youtube channel connecting the dots and teaching some skills. Watch my videos and subscribe.
