In my opinion I understand tradition but i swear GSU UNIS WOULD LOOK SO MUCH BETTER WITH BLACK BOOTS WITH THE BRIGHTEST COLOR IN THIER UNIS AS SPATS MAN THEY WOULD KILL THE SCENE

Alcorn has NEVER had a better band than SU or JSU. That commentator was probably giving SOD props because the gave was televised at Alcorn. As far as I can remember, the yearly HBCU Digest never had Alcorn in the top 5.

Glad to see a video of the band marching in but disappointed at what I see. There's no excitement from anyone. The band looks as if someone made them attend the game against their will. The uniform selection in my opinion was a bad one. The drum majors are in black and gold and the band is in purpe and white, the twirlers look very sloppy and I'm disappointed that the halftime show still has not produced. What is going on? I love my SOD but come on guys you have to represent excellence inspite of the circumstances. You not only represent yourselves, you represent the school and the fans that are cheering for you. Don't put on your best game only when you play a particular school. Put forth your best effort even when no one else is there. Why? Because it's a representation of yourself. If you don't have pride and think much about yourself no one else will either. Spoken out of love not hate. Go SOD!!! I know you can do it!

Rondeyl L they're not in uniform because is was 80% chance of rain...not sad but common sense prevailed...just look at the sky in the video. Everyone in the stand had poncho and rain coats...prepared

Guy what are you talking about, in case it rains they put the woodwinds up so they will not have to leave the band. The only band that does so, anybody else they got it from this band.

breashes02 those woodwind instruments are school instruments they get ruined in the rain so yes when it may rain or it is raining they are put away. Look at the ground it looks to be sprinkling and the sky is dark. Watch other March in videos such as the Grambling pv game no cases. In a lot of bands their woodwinds March personal horns so really the school doesn't care if they get messed up, it's the students responsibility unfortunately.

I was watching the game on ESPNU and the commentator said...he places the SOD in his top 5 Power Bands. I am sure he has seen a lot of bands in his time so that is a mouthful right there. I am not knocking that SU is a good band, but remember, bands can be knocked from rank just like football teams. I am proud of the SOD's accomplishments and they are continuing to evolve. Look out!

For the last time brainiac , the whole point was about SOD (which I'm a fan of as well,just as I stated previously) re-establishing themselves and their reputation. Being a fan of SU has nothing to do with it. It was never an issue with them respecting SU ; be clear ....SU is respected where it matters. SU just happened to be the opposing band when I made the comment. SOD played themselves by playing that weak arrangement of Headbussas.
