What was the issue on the screeching squeak noise when hitting the throttle?

thanks anyway. I have a similiar sound in my engine right now. new pistons, rods, bearings. new timing chain, guides and tensioner. Already had the head cover of again to check any signs of wear on the camshafts. replaced all the rockers. rechecked the bearings on the rods. but i cannot find anything..@@ndeclari

What an excuse, unless you're blind, there's a shell and gulf on the right, guy could have just signaled right and patiently merged over 2 lanes instead of cutting across three. He also had plenty of time to merge earlier by which he would have only had to change one lane to the right, oh and there's also a bp before the shell. Three gas stations back to back on the right

Hi, Did you found out what was causing the noise????? My NB8C sounds very familiar.... valve clearances?
@ndeclari3 жыл бұрын
Since the engine was entirely rebuilt, I only reused the castings, crankshaft and cams, I think it was just breaking in. After a few hundred miles of driving it smoothed out and sounds much better now. I have put over 10,000 trouble free miles on it since taking this video.

Thank you for pointing this out! I was wondering why it was green. It's the second one I replaced and I was wondering why it was green. I purchased it from RockAuto as it was listed for my car. While I've done this 3 times in the past, I can't get this clutch bled properly and it engages practically against the floor.

I've been running on Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s, 225/45r18 and 340AA treadwear on the factory rims. Not the grippiest of tires but they are an excellent balance between track, street and cost for me. I have managed to pull 1.19G on these tires. So not too bad.

Unfortunately I did not. My neighbor upgraded his 2000 to a 6spd and made me a great deal on his old 5spd. So I dropped that in. I ended up selling my old transmission to someone who was going to try and fix it. I never heard back on the results though.

I just changed my control arms in my 2009 Cobalt SS. I used Mevotech. I had the same issue happen on both sides. I compared the ball joint diameter to the factory GM diameter and they were slightly different. The GM diameter was 20.5 mm and the Mevotech was 19.95 mm. Also a Moog balljoint was 19.95 mm. I also torqued them the exact same as you did. Not much of a difference in diameter but it is a little over half a millimeter. I'm not sure what to do at this point. How did you resolve the issue?
@ndeclari6 жыл бұрын
GM doesn't sell the ball joint for the LNF FE5 suspension by itself nor does any 3rd party. I ended up buying new control arms with the ball joint on there. I then took my old control arms, which now had new ball joints and bushings installed and sold them as they will fit Cobalt's with the FE3 suspension.
@crisashton5736 жыл бұрын
Well, I ordered two AC Delco Professional ball joints from Rock Auto (45D10711). If you are right, I'll have to return them and do what you did. What a pain in the ass! I'm also praying that my knuckles didn't get damaged because I drove the car for two days after installing the control arms.
@ndeclari6 жыл бұрын
I couldn't find a source for the 20.5mm ball joints anywhere. I too ordered two sets of them and ended up returning one set. The only way I found was to order new control arms, which have them riveted on. I ended up buying mine from GM Crate & Engine Depot, with the upgraded Powell Racing CABs. Good luck!
