Thank you for this video. I just subscribed and will check out your other videos. I'm 60yrs old and started playing when I was 8 yrs old. Basically self taught which means I've been inconsistent and picked up bad habits. One thing I'd like to share though is when I was 16 I was obsessed with buying a 12 string. I had no business owning a 12 string but I had to have one because I just love the way they sound. I struggled through the finger strength required to form the chords but eventually developed. I didn't even pick up a 6 string for years but then when I did, I was like Oh my God this is so easy. Lesson learned, practice things that are harder than you need to do and the things you NEED to do will be a lot easier than you ever imagined. That's a life lesson, not just a guitar lesson.

Just a little nit-pick but the blue note is the flat five, or Db The sharp four C# is in the lydian scale, but not in the blues scale. To be clear, although the 5b and the 4# are enharmonic they are not interchangeable.

The AC Boost is the only amp model so far that I can get closest sounding to my Blackstar HT-1R to studio headphones via emulated out ISF British tone with my Spark MINI. I tried the Plexiglas which I can get a similar tone but the AC Boost gives me more bass thump like the Blackstar has plus a add a small touch of Digital Chorus because there is something about the HT-1R OD channel that has almost a hint of doubling effect. Anyway I think it's fun trying to copy the tones from a real amp you own just to see how close you can get.

So B.B Box-root on b string then build that little house but go back 2 frets the b7th on b string you can build Griff's house pattern and the famous 4 note Blues solo? I like that you don't just name frets and intervals but NOTES!

Super legit. I have a 97 that is actually an Elite or Deluxe: Fender lace single coils and the roller bridge with the stacked tone pot that kind of did the Clapton strat thing, but w/o the preamp, it was cool, but not that cool. I put classic 54's in the middle & neck. The bridge PU was made by Sonny at Sonny's Custom Shop in Plano, TX. It is quite similar to the Seymour Duncan SSL-5 but not quite that hot. Kind of has an almost P90 thing with gain, but generally a more subtle top end (not spikey). It still plays well with the middle. I also have the bridge you have in this vid. It is the best thing I have done to the 97. Can't say enough. I do also have an 83 STRAT with the X-1 (quite hot) PU in the bridge - and whatever Dan Smith and Co were doing back then. It's heavy and has gold plate brass all over the place. It had a 2 way switch disguised as tone knob. It gave every combo you could imagine in conjunction with where you are on the blade selector. The coolest: all 3 in series. It failed, but I found an answer years ago. It's not quite as easy as the Tone Shaper approach. I am totally getting their SSS Blender. Thanks for sharing!

The problem I always had with “ learning songs” is that so many recorded tunes are in various studio tunings. Few songs seem to be played and recorded in standard E. They are tuned down a half step or some other unknown tunning. I can match pitch by ear but I get stuck in parts of the song if I’m not in the exact tunning .

I've been playing for a few months now and I've been feeling really stuck in my playing the past few weeks, like I'm not progressing, and then saw this. I practiced all these techniques for 1 hour and I'm already way faster and all around better! Thank you so much!!! 🤘

Cramping is a muscle thing . Drink more water . Hydrate water , not coffee or tea or gatorade. Electrolytes and potasium, magnesium, copper and zink. Ice the arm. There is stretching excercises, and I use Tai Chi Balls and there is a really good Hemp Menthol rub out there. Or CBD. I never warm up. Setting up for the gig is my warm up. Solo artist here.

Try placing your pinky first and stretching back with the first finger.

Exercise 1. 1st finger..2nd..3rd and 4th finger. Then back in reverse. Becomes easy after a while so try this instead. 1st finger 3rd finger 2nd finger 4th finger. Then reverse it coming back...4th 2nd 3rd 1st. Then try it the same way along one string and back again...maybe skip a string or two going back. And there's more variations on this idea.

Whoa, what a beautiful strat, I had one like that, it was my first electric. It always sounded fantastic, and had a stellar neck, if you like electric guitars. Nothing sounds like a sratocaster. I prefer the Gibson SG, Standard with the humbucks, the high access neck that plays every note easy, all the way up to the neck pickup. To me, that is another advantage of a flat neck, on the Gibson, plus its unique sound like a strat, but completely different humbucks, make a thicker sound to me, not better, but not the same as a Fender. Variety is the spice of unique sounds.

Thank you, for the brief, but clear steps for practicing for perfection. Ear playing is where I want to learn. Classical Piano lessons, knocked all energy out of me to play by ear. Now I'm back and going to master that. Thanks for your suggestions, a big help from an older beginner. Cheers, Dk.

I could not read music, if you put a gun to my head, l will take number 3, with extra rice, and tea, looks like Chinese writing to me, Clapton, Santana,Hendrix, Van Halen,Mike Bloomfield, Elvin Bishop, Betts, from Allmans,Jerry Garcia, Robin Trower, Mark Knofler, a few you know, they can't read either, but they get by.

Great lesson, I have played my whole life and played in one band for 33 years, I had lots of fun, and always consider myself a guitarist, I was the only guitarist for quite a while, the reason for that is you play rhythm probably over 90% of the time And lead the rest, also I really like the part with improvising with rhythms and lead, I think it’s good to always have a open mind, and don’t judge, something to learn from anybody and everybody, and that’s how you develop a style ..👍👍🎸
