I bought a 1972 cb450 new in '73 for $975. This is definitely a street bike, thus why the scrambler edition ? Doesnt make much sense.

Two of these showed up in my neighbourhood when I was an impressionable young teenager growing up in a country community. They often blasted past our home topping the ton. And lots of blue exhaust smoke to follow. ( I am having a little chuckle as I write this )

Nice. I had a 73 S2 350. It was blue with a yellow stripe. I had to sell it when I got divorced. Dam I miss that motorcycle. I showed it also and won trophies for it too. I have now a 75 RD 250. It’s cool but not like my triple. I’m still looking for another triple. 😊 Hang on to that 500. 🫡👍

I had a 72 H1 back in 75. I rode that bike everywhere. Points adjustment were somewhat of a pain in the arse, but, nothing can compare to the sound of those triples. Especially with chambers..I just last week bought a 73 H1 and am once again , loving the sound. Good Luck.

@aimandjulian319519 күн бұрын
I rode one of those 400 triples around australia in 1978 same color as your bike I had to carry extra gas tanks strapped on the sides and on the back as it had a small tank and used more gas than a V8 car once one of the plastic gas cans tied to the side of the bike slipped down to where the bottom of the plastic can was touching the rear exhaust pipe it burned through and a couple of gallons of gas poured out the big hole it had made I never noticed it till i stopped to gas up l counted my lucky stars that day...

@@LocustHillClassicsLLCYes mate, they did run more than good for their size, in Australia, from standing start, out in the far western plains, no traffic, blew away a Holden GTS 350cu inch V8 4 speed, but a real warning, try take a corner too fast and expect to be bitten, for a high speed it was a very unforgiving motorcycle. Was at a house party one Saturday Night and a good mate's mate, asked me about the beast parked in front of the house, of course I offered him a ride, didn't ask do you have licence, no, just here is the keys, here is the helmet, go for it. When he got back he was a much subdued man, could not believe how rocket ship it was, yes, mine was over-bored just a tad.

Nice job! I had a new one in '71 just like it when I was 12 yr. old. Dad paid $369 for it as I recall. I found a restored one last year for $2800 & picked it up. One of the best cycles that I owned as a youngster! An older neighbor gave my friend and I, 3 rolling frames and a box of engines from a CT and SL 70cc, when he cleaned out his garage. My friend, and I, built 2 out of the surplus, one of which was powered by the SL motor with a 4-speed transmission and hand clutch. We siliconed the spark plug and could ride double in knee deep water.
