I’ve rewatched your MYST explained series about 3 times now, it’s become somewhat of a comfort background lore video for me and I thoroughly applaud all the work you put in to these

I played this so much as a kid at my grandma's house I used to go there while my parents worked when I was a kid. Completely forgot about it suddenly the intro popped into my head like a fever dream and I had to look up videos about it. Thanks for helping me remember some childhood memories

Id love to see Myst 5, i dont know anything about it. Honestly i stopped playing Myst because i found it to be too difficult, i didnt understand the beauty in its simplicity. And i then found Riven to be a nightmare, i think i got 5 minutes in even with a guide. I know, its sad. Your series has brought the series's amazing story to life for me, an idiot who cant figure out this series. Ive always wanted to know the story and only you have explained it.
@necrovarius225Ай бұрын
I played this as a kid, and even did a book report on the Book of Dni, but never understood until I did the deep dive. Riven was my least favorite of the series, the puzzles were very different than the other games. I'm glad you enjoyed, and I hope to someday do more games and stories

oh why, why these vids are so underrated!? For the past decade no less I watched probably all decent Myst content here, but just recently this year YT recommended me this channel. This series deserves so much more views. Your creativity is awesome, and your editing, sound, and acting - everything is just excellent! 💯 And ofc your Lore explanation is as always on point!

I've never checked out any of your previous videos, but I was skimming through this one was startled to hear my name mentioned in the Spire crystal section! Very cool to hear you expansion of the crystal bomb's coating, it's an aspect of the story left very much to implications rather than direct explanation, which makes it very intriguing in a series which so often gives fantastic yet reasonable explanations for its sci-fi mechanics.

I never understood how there's a linking book to Jinan in Tomana but nobody uses it to come help you or bring you a book back. If Savedro was linking in and out of Tomana, he must have known better where Atrus stored his linking books than Atrus did, which seems unlikely.
@necrovarius2252 ай бұрын
The linking book to Jnanin was burned. The stranger linked right before it went up, you can see the flames in the cutscene before linking.
@darrennew82112 ай бұрын
@@necrovarius225 But he must have had some other linking book to Jnanin if he went back and forth several times, right? As he says, the doors you open don't close behind you. Was Jnanin being stored right next to Releshan? That's the only way it could make sense.
@necrovarius2252 ай бұрын
@darrennew8211 That is a good point. Personally. I think the Jnanin book was elsewhere, and perhaps the Canon is that the game acts as if you did it so fast, that they didn't have time to get to it while battling the blaze

I wanted to thank you for this video series. It's unbelievable how much effort goes into these videos and unfortunately really sad how few views it has. Your series has re-awakened my interest in the Myst series and more than a kid born in 1989 that just keeps running across Myst and through Riven :). I've also started reading the Book of Atrus. I always enjoy watching the videos and I always learn new exciting things. And I finally understand the lore of the game, where I only remember something about frequency.... Best regards from Germany

Literally the only good thing about Lego Island 2 is the island's new layout, the larger environments and extra buildings should have meant a lot of the same fun from the first game, but done even better. But other than that, it's a major letdown. A lot of time wasting on the loading screen for those crappy minigames and even worse voice acting. And boy, Pepper just kind of sucks in this game. I miss when you could actually build stuff and play the other characters. Also, what the hell happened to the race track on this island?

One thing interesting about Catherine is that she challenged everything Atrus knew about writing. She was able to write books to worlds that could only be described as fantasy. “The Writer of Dreams”

I absolutely loved Lego Island 1, and I was beyond stoked when I saw the the sequel came out. But Lego Island 2 was so bad, I remember I literally stopped playing it after like 15 mins, and never touched it again. The voice acting is cringey and boring, music is bland and forgettable, graphic is worse than 1 with textures being super blurry (How a 2001 game looks worse then a 1997 game is beyond me), and all Lego characters now move like some soft jelly instead of hard rigid plastic like the original. That's the reason why the first one gained a huge cult following while the sequel was just forgotten.

We got this from the library one time. Our parents didn't like how our computer would be bricked during loading screens, which took upwards of ten minutes. And the titular house that Pepper gets? You stare at one wall or the other. Took ten minutes to load in, ten minutes to load out. We never got it again, contrasting how often we'd get Alpha Team, Island 1, and Racers (to the point that when Alpha Team was retired from the library they just gave us the disc because we were the only family checking it out since they got it)

I played the first one when it came out, without seeing the opening or knowing anything about it, me AND a buddy couldn't figure it out, could barely navigate the game, we didn't grow up on CPU games we were console children, I personally still am, and Myst is partly the main reason for that as well as computer illiteracy lol either way, I miss this era in gaming the odd pre rendered backgrounds and such gaming was juuuust popular enough to get the trust and funding to try new things, and basically make digital art, but now that we ,the gamers ,the original gamers screwed up, we let every corporate entity into gaming, which results in the gaming scape you see today, devs and publishers not caring about the game anymore, just how much return they can promise, just through micro transactions, it's us the old guard that are to blame, and i apologize to you youngins
