Just my opinion - but I think as much as Tom's amazing vocal abilities have held up remarkably well for several decades (I'm sure in large part due to Tom's hard work and dedication to singing and his fans) this great ballad is not an easy one to get through, vocally. It has many high "reaches" change of keys, bridges, etc., and I think perhaps that Tom could no longer do it without difficulties despite his very broad and powerful vocal range. I also know from watching his interviews - that part of his great success and longevity as a pop vocalist is his ability to "adjust his style and choice of music to change with the times" and again - perhaps he has felt that despite how beautiful an arrangement this number is both musically and vocally - that the song would not fit in to the present ever changing music scene as it exists now. It is certainly a shame, though, and this fabulous ballad could be easily be performed by any great vocalist and sound so wonderful and be so memorable. I'll close by just saying that I became an instant huge fan of Tom when he first performed "It's Not Unusual" on the Ed Sullivan show in 1964, and knew (even though I was only 9 years old at the time) that this soon to become mega hit would soar Tom into stardom and become his most famous signature number. In his latest wonderful book - it mentions how Tom and others also - instantly knew what the song would do for him and how grateful he was that a well know female vocalist had turned the song down, prior. The book goes on to very interestingly describe how Tom's producers and arrangers "tweaked" the number over and over - to get just the right amount of brass and pulsating drums - to give the soon to be huge hit - the power and "punch" to the song to instantly "grab and hold" audiences.....It did that and much more!! The book further mentions that when the song was first heard in small pubs in London and other areas - BOTH men and women went bananas when they heard it and desperately wanted to know more about the strikingly handsome man with the million dollar voice who could excite and hold audiences like no other vocalist they had ever seen or heard.....As time went on - Tom was literally mobbed by fans where ever he went. And so began one of the longest, most successful careers in musical performances for Tom - including his own Fabulous TV specials in the mid 60's of which only just a few - were put on DVD, most unfortunately. Try to find any of them if you can - so that you can see just how appealing he was with ladies of all ages.....The show was very well done, funny, and had some great guests as well. Sadly, though - much was cut out of the show when put on DVD..... Many THANKS for all the great times and music you have given us, Tom!!! Congratulations on a most successful music career and millions of records sold as well as many millions of us fans!!!

This was a really Great number that Tom should have done more often! Don't know why it wasn't included in his live concerts for the past several years. Does anyone out there know why this wonderful ballad wasn't pushed more? Seems a shame......especially with Tom's fabulous vocal power and range.

Agreed. The only song i have listened from Tom was 'Sex Bomb' which was also good. But this has something speacial. As you have said this song shows me that Tom has a very characteristic and perfect voice. He should have gone from this kind of ballad.
