I got my 65 during a winter storm advisory in New York, normally a ?? 8 hour drive ? IDK. Uhaul guy #2 said, oh I had a dr appointment, I'm not sticking around in this snow. It snowed the whole trip ! I took my front spindles off my 67 since the 65 had no front spindles ! Anyway, that was like 10 years ago - sea blue sticker still in place and you can see it in teh cargo door when you open it and since the door panels are long gone, you see the sea blue there too. Which is was rust free as as yours....doesn't matter, I'll fix it

I had the same joy when I started my 66 bus for the first time several years ago. Albeit my bus, old bull, eventually needed an engine rebuild, brakes, and bodywork. VW bus owner are custodians entrusted with keeping these beautiful time travelers going. Cheers-

That’s awesome! And yes! These old girl needs lots of love. That why we did a full rebuilt of everything mechanical and electrical. We are going to keep posting to try and keep up as these video were filmed a year ago!

Love that you guys are into old VW's! Im still driving my 80 Vanagon westy after 44 years of ownership! Its a modern bus compared to your 57 , but the vib is still there and going strong! Looking forward to what you do next , that was a good thing you pulled the valve covers and saw that nut and washer laying in there!

Awesome! Glad you got it running. I've been into VWs for over 37 years. I got my first VW when I was 17 and I still have it. I love the old Buses and have owned several. Can't wait to see more progress. You're helping to keep the hobby alive. Take care.

@hippiesnap That will be part of your legacy. I'm seriously thinking about buying another Bus. It would be a project. I can't afford the ones that are already done. My first Bus was a '71 Westy. I bought it for $600 and drove it 60 miles home. It had gold, shag carpet on the walls and ceiling (first thing I got rid of lol). The clutch slipped in 3rd/4th gears if you didn't downshift quick enough on hills . But it was rust free and I took it on many trips. You're doing good things. I enjoy watching.

Sehr gut,dass Du vorher neues Öl in den Motor getan hast und die fehlende Schraube am Ventilkipphebel gefunden hast. Ich habe auf meinem Kanal gerade einen Baywindow VW t2 von 1974 nach 31 Jahren wieder zum Leben erweckt. Viele Grüße Ralph

Yeah we have. I feel like king pin beams feel a little more responsive and less sluggish than the ball joint in a bay. Either way though hahha we are definitely used to driving a bus
