Whatever you do, don't be tempted by the hype around Swytch bikes. The problem with Swytch bikes is the time it takes between payment and delivery. I've been waiting 4 months for mine to arrive. At first I received no information, then I was referred to a page that purported to give delivery date but the date given was missed twice. Emails were either not replied to, or bland meaningless generic comments were all I got. At the moment I don't know if I have just fallen for another scam, or whether I am dealing with a truly inefficient company. Don't be tempted unless you have patience.

How does the motor controller know when to apply power when it has no pedal crank cadence sensor? In the UK where I am, a thumb throttle is currently illegal also, as it is for many EU countries.

The assist system is based on the speed, acceleration, the slope of the road, and the assist level that you set in the APP or the optional wireless display, calculating out the power you need. The motor will kick in when the speed reaches 5km/h. When you make a little bit more effort on pedaling, the system will sense the increasement of the speed and help you with more power. On contrary when you brake, the system can sense the decrease of speed and reduce the power or shutdown the motor. And thanks to the gyroscope built in the controller, it will also increase the power when you go uphill and shut down the motor when go downhill.

@@efmilas1504 The shipping cost of a KF30S kit to Norway is about $300, and you need to do customs clearance and pay taxes yourself, so it is not recommended. If you have friends or relatives with other EU addresses, we can send the goods to your friend's address, and then you can ask your friend to help to send it to you, and the shipping cost will be much cheaper

What does "assist range" mean? The kit doesn't even have an assist mod/sensor. 60km drive with thumb throttle with a 5.8Ah battery?? That's not realistic at all !

Lvbu assist system is an intelligent assist system which can calculate out and provide the proper power based on the speed, acceleration, the slope of the road, and the assist level set in the APP or display. It will provide proper power automatically when you pedal. The motor will not work until the speed reaches 5 km/h. The assist range we tested by a 60kg weight rider, when outside temperature 25℃,no wind, 50% assist level under manual mode, tires with enough air pressure, riding on flat level road.🙂

Got the kd40s and it is doing well. Giving me 40-46mile range and power is decent. Not better than my other bafang but the lvbu is lighter. Buying another lvbu for my brompton. Very glad lvbu had a stall in eurobike convention, hope this company does well.

Motor cable should be pointing down so water drains away without going into the motor.
