Hey Judith! Yes, it IS like a porcelain so it will break if dropped on a hard surface. But it's just so easy and so less messy and non toxic. For some things, it's worth the risk.

I made these last year but use Styrofoam cones. I received lots of compliments on them. So simple but so elegant.

Im wondering about the mix and mold and how it compares to resin and clay?

@@Jann-l4i I’m loving the mix2mold! It cures like ceramic! Resin is plastic and can be toxic. I still like resin but the mix2mold is really easier? It takes 60 min to cure. You simply mix the powder with water and pour it in the mold. It’s cheaper too. Clay is really nice if you want to form it around something. Hope that helps!😊

Thanks so much Charlotte! I have put a transfer on a fabric shade as well. I sealed it first with a polycrylic just as if I had painted it. I then sealed it several times after putting the transfer on.

Yes! Just a clear polycrylic or your decoupage medium.

I used to make these with my 2nd grade students for their parent's Christmas presents. We would put the paint inside the clear ornaments, the child would shake it a bit, and then turn the ornament upside down in an egg carton to let the excess paint drain out. When dry, we'd add the hanger back on and decorate it with ribbon. The end product is very much the same except the paint is on the inside.
