Hi Monika. I’m new to the world of shrimp & shrimp breeding. Thank you for putting together these videos. They are eye opening, and certainly helps in approaching the hobby systematically. There is so much to learn, especially in Part 3 of your series, but I think you are providing valuable tools in mapping the origins and genotypes of the hobby. Once again, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Your fan & pupil, Jim

I don't use pure rainwater for OEBT. They like to have higher PH and higher conductivity. You may use salt and sand / stones as soil to hit their preferred parameters ... then maybe it works fine.

Hello Monika, i have maybe an important question please and I'm sure you're experience can give good answers. Is males of crystal shrimp ratio, i mean when they're so many in tanks, will annoy or even make females get injured at mating time?

For sure they do! Only 5-7 males ( the best!) are needed in a middle sized population of shrimps.

I think and maybe, in the wild, this species of shrimp hide from light of sunshine all day long, so they don't need that bright color of eyes, but when they're keeping by human keeper, with high tech lamp, high spectrum light, or even good sunshine in some ponds, they begin need a bright eyes just like shrimp in ocean, to reflect more the light and then protect their eyes, but that just my spontaneus opinion, based from what i see on many nature documentary

Both genders possible but it may easier with female Bee. If you plan doing from scratch count in 5 years and more to get some attractive results. The blue body color isn't a relevant factor for producing FRT.

Jedoch sind natürlich alles was fällt genetische Hybriden.

@shrimpart5135
@shrimpart5135 4 жыл бұрын
In nature C. logemanni has variance of pattern. Due selective selection a breeder can expand the (brown/ red) pattern to full bands and more. The trait that allows this naturally variance called in the video 'extention'- trait. This may modifies the appearance of a phenotype. From low grade crystals to 4-Bands into Super Crytsal direction. Within the further crossbreeding this is a main trait that works, beside some others, as a modifier of visible pattern. Wildform C. mariae don't have this trait because it isn't possible widen up the stripes from wild form of C. mariae due selective breeding.
