It’s so lovely to see JJ bouncing as well as the crowd. And to hear all the old tracks!

The Stranglers are still, in 2024, my best band forever since 1977. Just decided to blast out a recent version of "I'm Bitchin" for my son to let him know that the feelings expressed in the song are 'timeless' and so true. I was blessed and privileged to attend a fantastic, great gig just up the road from me at the Milky Way in 1999. For some reason I kept shouting out 'Dagenham Dave' which must have been very irritating as the band had their set and other nearly as great bands were also appearing so a tight schedule. I apologize and have regretted it ever since but see from this gig that Dagenham Dave is again on the playlist. Not all super-fans suicide like Dave but it's really nice that The Stranglers recognized him in their early days.

Mr Greenfield is a legend, jet too. Toby has a job that he can never fill. I'm not being nasty, but we all know how do you follow dave.

Love the Stranglers to this day. Such a brilliant band at the proto/post era when so much crappy New Wave was taking over the airwaves. I'm now 68 but still love this music. So good.

Although JJ can't really sing, I think he still gets away with it; his singing voice is more unusual which makes it unique and it still fits the songs he's the lead singer in

Still one of the all time greats. Magnificent from the moment they landed. Hugh Cornwell is highly smacked-up in this clip. Looks strung out, slurs a bit. But he had and still has star quality. Baz Warne is a better guitarist and a much more rounded front man Dunno what the future holds. Dear Dave has gone, RIP; Jet is surely retired by now, Jean-Jaques can pick and choose his projects; Baz always seems to enjoy touring. Ah well. I love 'em. And Im proud to be a fan-in-black.

I agree with all that you write. I'm far more optimistic about the group's future after seeing this superb recent concert for French TV. JJ is in great form, Baz is accomplished as ever, and Jim and Toby are valuable additions. Looking forward to the next chapter. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKuql6p7jbV8ra8

ALWAYS been one of my favourite Stranglers songs, it has that unique balance of bass, guitar and keyboards that so typifies their early sound. So glad Baz is willing to forego his own ego and play it original Hugh style too ; - )

Fair play to the Stranglers for doing this song as a tribute to one of their fans who lost his life A great tune and should have been a hit back in 1977.Dave here is on top form on the keys. He is sadly missed.RIP Dave.💕
