6:14 I'm a truck driver in the states (redimix, Seattle WA) And you're pretty dadgum close as far as reaction times for drivers. It takes .5 to 1 full second for the brain to recognize what's going on in front of turn. Another .5 to 1 full second to think of what needs to be done, then another .5 to 1 full second to physically implement the action. That's why a good truck driver is always looking not at just what is directly in front of turn, but 5 seconds into the future. With the horse being involved in this situation, I'm clueless as to what added time would be, cuz now the horse has to perceive the command from its rider, then react. So potentially another full second, possibly 2. As far as the riders seeing the vehicle, our vantage point looks to be from at least 20 feet up. I'm young to guess that the eye level of the riders is going to be Berean 10 and 13 feet (you probably know that right of the top of your head) so we can see the car long before they can. But they should have been able to hear it. You get used to the cadence of the clop-clops on the pavement, and can hear passed it. And for the record, at least here in Seattle, these cyclists here think the road was made for them, and any motorized vehicle is trespassing on their turf. Cuz they DO NOT ride where they're supposed to. They are "above the law and entitled to do whatever tf they want". If you think I'm overstating or not being serious, you've not ever been here.
