drill and run two screws up into the tower along with this idea might help out and hold up a little longer

the engine should run just fine as long as it,s properly cleaned and there,s no old fuel yuck anywhere,especially in the delicate reed valve carburetor. reed valves have to seal tight for the power stroke to work properly and any dirt/foreign matter in there will cause a problem. test your glow plug with a 1.5 volt battery to make sure the center filament lights up and glows yellow-orange. replacements are available if needed on eBay. dismantle as much of the engine as you can as well as the internal fuel tank and soak all the parts in methanol alcohol to dissolve away any old solidified lubricant oil residue and yes,definitely replace that old clear vinyl fuel line with new vinyl or silicone rubber. a drop of light sewing machine oil for the sleeve bearing for the crankshaft is a good thing as well as a bit on the sides of the piston. any crud inside the cylinder can be removed with soft steel wool which will not damage the bore and wash in methanol after to remove any stray particles. as for fuel,use 20% nitro or even 30%.....the smaller the engine,the "happier" they seem to run on higher nitro percent content. i see Testors used a WW1 style propeller for a bit of authenticity but it may not develop sufficient thrust for flying. you can probably find a better propeller on eBay for actual flying and use the simulated wood WW1 "airscrew" for show/display. if the landing gear axles are just plastic,you may want to beef up the gear a bit with a small diameter steel tube across from wheel to wheel.
