I just finished this book! And i thought it was okay, but yeah i really didn't feel anything about any of the characters. Immediately finished it and thought about giving it away cause i have no attachment to the story (even though the plot twist was cool) or the book as an object. It was so nice to hear your thoughts!

I watched the mdzs donghua and im in the middle of the untamed rn. Loving every adaptation❤️. im saving HOB for later because I don't want to devour all mxtx's works in one go😁 so im reading Remnants of Filth by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou (yes another danmei)

I hated fourth wing so much I literally burnt it. I literally used it to light my fire this winter. It was very satisfying.

I totally recommend watching a fanimation called Hualian- love like you by Melts. It’s honestly such a beautiful video and it makes me so emotional each time I watch it.

If you want to continue reading danmei I can recommend the website novelupdates, it catalogs fan translated novels and you can sort it by bl. It’s where I found MDZS being fan translated before they were made into books lol I’m so glad to know that so many people continue to learn about these series and continue to fall in love with the stories told by MXTX. I found the MDZS anime in 2018 on an (pirate) anime site, fan translated, because it hadn’t been officially translated at that point. It took like 2 years for it to be uploaded and officially translated to English on KZbin. MDZS was almost done being translated and TGCF was translated by fans up to the first book and I had to find a tumblr link to a google doc because someone had mentioned scenes past that. Now I can find the officially translated books at my local library. This story has gone so far.

I watched the anime a couple of days, again. And my algorithm is now full of MDZS I read it back in 2017-2018, and I love it, at that time was just online as fan's translation, a superb translation I may add. You are making my want to buy the physical copies. *Cries in not having money*

another indian danmei fan in the making mhm welcome, we have cookies milk and lots of tears <333 next suggestion is "(dumb) husky and his white cat shizun" by meatbun !! it is so sooo good like it is better than even mxtx's works for me TT (and that is serious bc i have read mo dao zu shi as my first danmei in 2017, it is special to me) there are 6 volumes out rn you can buy online, 100% recommend. there are several trigger warnings, So much angst, and the content is rated E (do not take it lightly lol) so be mindful of that, and it takes some time having the mc grow on you for some people (not me though i support my boy's rights And wrongs), but the payoff will have you ascending to heaven, and the plot is incredible and the main pairing is so addictive. please read it ! coming from a danmei veteran of 7 years two other suggestions (published in english and can be bought from amazon) - thousand autumns (ACTUAL enemies to lovers, dilfy love interest hehe, opposites attract- morally upright x morally dubious (done well !!) - little mushrooms (only 2 volumes fin, post apocalyptic, mind-blowing writing- author literally won a national sci-fi literature award) but please give erha/2ha/husky and his white cat shizun a go first ! it is massive but you will wish for it to never end once you get into it. and please be patient with my boy mo ran, he is indeed a dumb husky :'D

For me is different. I start this genre with Grand Master and then i read Heaven's Official Blessing, but this last become my favourite and the develop of MXTX as writter is amazing. I want to know what you think about the Yi city arc? the way Lan Zhan discover Wei Wuxian identity? And think how all the main plot is connected

here to support because I LOVEEE this book! I started with the netflix series and instantly fell to the written version, the author's other books, and the donghua :D they may do an anime, and a manga, as it only has a manhua, I'm soo excited

MDZS was my first MXTX series. When I went to HOB, it was super tame, It threw me off. I love them both so much! (I'm in the middle of svsss and it is so good too!)

Not me crying over watching you read it. My foray into Danmei actually started with MDZS/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. Bestie put The Untamed on after she started reading the series and I got invested on the side and so I started reading the books as soon as she was done with the first one. Then it just spiraled and I read Scum Villain & TGCF as well as starting The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, Thousand Autumns, & Stars of Chaos. Plus just bought more Danmei books that I have yet to read lol. MDZS is still my hyperfixation over a year later but I also adore & obsess over TGCF. I was having a really bad time mentally and then starting to read Danmei bright a spark back to me that made me want to live again. As dramatic as that sounds and over a year later the community still means so much to me. I'm glad you're enjoying it so much!!! 💕

I recently read Happy place and the book was so deep and heavy... loved her writing but I wouldn't recommend the book to a friend especially if they are as sensitive as me.💖 Funny Story has been sitting on my bookshelf for a while and I am scared to read it... honestly it's the title for me... imagine the title being Happy place and then I ended up crying like a baby... Funny Story now just makes me scared🫣

I think there is a lot about misinterpreted.. because Iron Widow is not mainly focused in feminism but power and revenge. The author theirself even said that Wu Zetian is an anti-hero so she isn't going to be that likeable compared to hero. And certain aspects of feminism that are critised in this book kinda is the whole point of Iron Widow

I like this book so far (spoiling myself rn bc im halfway through) but I do agree with your points, I think my main excitement about it was a polycule who is not shown as a gross yucky thing, and the world seemed interesting. however a friend of mine mentioned that zetian had no positive relationships w other women, and that working class women seemingly didnt exist here which made things click after my first awe reaction. i do agree with both of these points, and it sucks bc supposedly zetian is doing it for all women but the book barely - so far - passes the bechdel test. (or does it)
