The way the video uses "quick quick slow slow" is confusing because the second quick used is actually a slow. And the first quick is not a half note but a quarter note. The video upload rhythm, on its face, is more a foxtrot, country 2 step, or single swing rather than Hustle. I count my Hustle as "uh 1, 2, 3" "uh" being a quarter note similar to samba syncopation.

As an intermediate to advanced hustle dancer, this is an excellent video for beginners. I agree with him to forget about the 4 count hustle (it's baby stuff); the syncopated step is what most hustle dancers use.

I'm so glad to see this video. I'm taking lessons and all they talk about is 4 step hustle. And I get so mixed up. I want to learn syncopated which is what I learned years ago and I thought that iswhat hustle actually is. THANK YOU!! I thought I was going crazy..

My husband and I have been using your videos for about two years to improve our dancing. Today we used the dance moves from this video to record a clip for the channel You, Me & The RV. They asked for a short clip of people dancing to make a compilation for their 100K Sub video. Glad we found your channel. Also enjoyed the video you posted on Nov. 21 Will continue to support your channel. We have a small rv travel channel.

I'm old and I remember the Hustle and the song "Kung Fu Fighting"...When we danced to "Kung Fu Fighting", Hustle dancing was really not in yet. We did the "Bump" and the "Kung Fu Bump" to that first song.

Kung Fu Bump?
@mrob75
@mrob75 5 жыл бұрын
@@Robert_Keel LOL it was a variation of the original Bump, but when we danced the Kung Fu Bump, we would make "martial arts" moves with our arms and bodies as we "bumped". If you listen to Joe Simon's 1975 "Get Down (Get On the Floor)" which was the ultimate Kung Fu Bump song, you'll hear Joe mention the "Kung Fu Bump". :---)

@sylviedroz I think technically it is, except they start with triples instead of a rock step. Jive just seems to be a ballroom version of ECS.
