I saw this tour when it came through Chicago the same year. What a fucking privilege to have witnessed this. One of the finest American bands of all time. "Doolittle" is such a precious record.

This is an interesting take on this song, and is obviously not meant to be a verbatim cover. As a musician, I can easily tell that the changes in tempo and transitions are purposefully played this way. I think it takes more skill to put your own personality on a cover than it does to just play it straight.
