Man, what is up with Epiphone lately and their flame veneers? They look so understated and bland! Compare them to the PRS veneers on their SE models and the ones on the SE's blow them away! Compared to the Gibson, that Epiphone almost looks like a plain top!

Where's the natural colored guitar from the thumbnail? That guitar looks much better than this cyan colored one.

Thanks for the video. Where are the 100s of captures? Many of the artists captures are practically empty! I own this pedal but is there anyway I can access these tones on a Mac ?

6:20 "given some time you'll be able to pick these up for an absolute steal" two years later and these regularly sell second hand on eBay for around the same brand new price quoted here in the video. An identical used one sold a few days ago for £480 in fact! They're holding their value surprisingly well!

For marketing about the CTS pots/Mallory caps - While a good portion of people who'd be looking at buying this guitar can do their own work, there's still quite a few who can't (or won't) and will pay someone to make the change from something cheaper. So it's not just that it's 30ish or so in parts, there's also the cost of the labor to have it switched. Even if you do your own work, is your time free? Time/money to get the parts? Time to take out the old and install the new? That's where a lot of people miss the bigger picture (this is true in anything, not just guitars). Your time is valuable - how valuable is up to you, but you should always place value on your time, no matter what you are doing. Should they hype is that much? Probably not, but don't devalue it (or your time) either.

The pickups are the same ones in the $29k version. $299 upgrade. So if you figure this in along with cost of install; the price difference with the faded is even less. Gibson is definitely on an upswing ...

I'm thinking about buying a new guitar, its been about 12 years since I've played but I've been doing plumbing for over a decade now and I now have sausage fingers do you think I'll still be able to play? Anyone in the comments ever go through this and know how to adapt? Maybe they make sauna chambers for your hands?

Love this fly by the seat of your pants fractal creations! What drive or pedal/amp have you tried to create a more saturated sustain lead sound? Much like an old song called sister christian. I'm not wanting that tone but some setup that has a controllable, massive sustain for lead. Likely some compression/sustain perhaps but not sure the best setup. I have the FM9
@GuitarTalkUK15 күн бұрын
@@cryptoking8060 I’d start with a similar amp and settings to what he used and then tweak some settings to your own taste. I think he used a mesa with the gain and treble cranked and then a mid boost to make it less harsh. The Soldano amps will be a good shout to try, dial in a big saturated tone, add a drive like a ta809 with the gain low and level high to add sustain and then experiment with some different cab irs to get the flavour you are after.
@cryptoking806014 күн бұрын
@@GuitarTalkUK Much appreciated. Just getting a heads up where to start makes it easier to get a result. I have amps and cabs I like but wasn't claer on sustain options with and without too much saturation. These units are insane and sound killer.

I love ff but can't justify the price at $2200 cad with tax. it should be the exact color of Pelham Blue as the gibson dg 335 and have full gibson hardware i.e the bridge and tail piece should not be epiphone. I can epiphone releasing a newer model of these with a rosewood fret board to try and boost sales.

I got one of these JHS reissues for nostalgic reasons. Way back in '82 it was the first distortion pedal I'd seen in real life. As a beginning guitarist i was thrilled lol

I bought one online and recieved it last week. Honestly, I am not impressed. I am trying to decide if I will keep it or not. Yes it looks nice, the neck has a nice feel, no quality control issues. But it feels..cheap. The knobs are some really thin low cost kind of plastic that feel like they are about to crack and look cheap. The poly finish is so thick I could park my car on it without damaging it. But my main complaint is the pickups are not very good, They sound harsh and shrill. Now maybe a good setup can fix that. The action is fine out of the box, but perhaps pickups height is wrong and causing issues. If that doesn't cure it, Ill have to decide if it's better to buy a decent set of pickups or just sell it and go for the USA strat instead. I have a MIM Jazz bass and its fine I love it. I had a 92 MIM strat and honestly it sounded far better. Should have kept that one in hindsite.

Great demo and one showing off the clean tones for a change. I can remember Shergolds from the late 1970's early 80's. Pretty sure there was a model appearing in catalogues like Grattans along with Hondo, Columbus, Kays and Satelite guitars. Great demo. To my ears the pickups sound too dark to be Filtertrons, more like Mini humbuckers. The 'jangle' and clarity associated with Fitlertron tone isn't coming through. So maybe I budget in another £100 for some Gretsh/Roswell Fitlertrons. Scott Currie Music are selling them for £306 so the savings off the RRP go well towards replacing the neck pickup for something with a more open and sparkling top end! Win! Win!

Thats a lot of money bro. I just spun the neck pickup round in my natural finish les Paul standard and it sounds epic! 😊 It Looks almost the same as a greeny now, but its a lot more shiny..

They are a lot of money, although prices have dropped a bit recently. Decent guitars though and for a "signature" model Gibson hasn't gone too wild on the price for a change 😂

Nice, I have the purple one. It has the best feeling neck of all the guitars I have ever played (better than Ibanez, ESP, Jackson, Caparison, Solar in my opinion). Whenever I take this guitar it just feels like a piece of art. I'm also really impressed by the sound of the Schecter pickups. Only critique is the Floyd Rose Special which is really bad. So I will put in a Schaller soon.

When demonstrating factory presets then demo the original ones..that Edge 80's capture is a clean capture, why does it sound so distorted? That is not the original factory preset...

Love my new rosewood lefty...and I'm a total Tele guy. Pups have a unique tone that is so pleasing to the ears. Unlike my other Strats...all 5 positions sound great. I'm picky...nearly always replace guitar pups with new/used boutique brands (Fraliin, Lollar, Suhr, LSL, etc)....not these....love 'em just the way they are! Finally inserted the trem arm last eve....it really stays in tune well!! Keeper.

I've had mine since summer and it came out of the box set up nicely. It is a pleasure to play and looks great. I did not like the pickups. Super noisy. I have Fender Custom Shop Fat 60's in a different Fender and they are killer. These pickups bugged me so much that I swapped them out.
