If my PSU only has 1, 8 pin PCIe connector and my GPU has the 2 8 pin connectors like yours has, do I need an adapter or a new PSU? I'm have the same issues where the card is in 'standby mode' with the red LED but its not being detected by the PC.

So I've tried this, and for some reason my cpu still overheats and achieves max turbo boost clock speed (4000MHZ and 97°C) . I've tried setting the max power state to different percentages to no avail . Iam stuck between max boost (at 100% max state) or it being capped at 1700 MHZ for 99% max state (at which the temperature is 65°C yet the performance is stuttery) . Would you know what could be the reason for this? Appreciate your help.

I'd go with a 12600kf, it's doable but no ideal. I was able to survive with a q6600 and a gtx 1060 for a year and the i3 is hell of a lot better than it.
