Great video! Appreciate you putting the trail names. Hoping to do some riding there this spring! Overall, how difficult would you rate these trails compared to Ballinger? Any really difficult sections to watch out for?
@c.f33s428 күн бұрын
Thank you! if you are comparing to the harder of the trails in Ballinger its about the same difficulty but there is just a lot more of them and its not exactly an easy trip back to the truck if you get a little tired. Snowy is for sure is the hardest trail and would recommend on the first time there (its 15 miles of hard single track). the other ones are all definitely doable just bite off small amounts at a time. one thing is a lot more rocks than ballinger.

Rad! We take our ADV bikes up from the ranger station and camp up on Mt. Frazier. I've never seen this path up. Is the entrance accessible through Gorman campgrounds?
@c.f33s428 күн бұрын
Yeah there are 2 main trails coming in from gorman. One is East Frazier ( which is really awesome with a great view) and Tejon. unfortunately gorman was closed with a fire and we werent able to ride it.

@@c.f33s4 true, but you have to be looking at the right time at the right place to see the dust before it settles down. The noise is what literally gives you away, because no one needs to be looking or paying attention, or focusing on the trails, they can just hear you regardless what they are doing.

Awesome Video! I did this trail with a buddy about 1992. We were both on 300+ lb. 1986 Honda XL600Rs. I recall a nice ride through the woods until we encountered the bottom section where it got rough with steep drops on the left, doesn’t seem that part has changed much over the years.

Charging! That section from 3:50-4:10 has gotten much tougher. I can only barely do it slipping the crap out of my clutch. Are you using your clutch much in that kind of area? I still don't know how much these clutch plates can take? I have a new 501 and I've watched your section there multiple times to pump myself up for next time. Thx for sharing.
@c.f33s4 Жыл бұрын
Thank you sir. Its definitely tricky keeping momentum through the rocks. I try and use the clutch sparingly so it doesnt heat up and fade, but that section probably a quarter pull on the lever and just keep the momentum going. Sorry so long for a response.

@c.f33s42 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. It is pretty rough but manageable for the most part. The spot that would be the hardest for a bike that size is the stairsteps itself as its about 10 foot elevation change over rock and is really hard even on mx bikes. From the road up about half way on the trail is well graded and full of some great scenery and I would definitely recommend.

Golden hill road which runs through hungry valley svra and mount pinos ohv. You can take the trail either way but would recommend entering at the top of alamo mountain and exiting at kings camp.
