this show was spectacular. I was initially introduced and drawn to this show because henry cavil was in it, but I ended up staying for king henry and all his madness. I remember coming home from school and just binging watching it like crazy fun times.

The theme music itself touches the very core of your heart, and shakes your soul.. So many queens executed. The brutality of king henry the 8th, hits you between the eyes, and you are totally shocked. This music is just terrifying, and you are totally absorbed to the happenings, what a music!!!!

I was in high school when it was played during the summer of 2007 in Greece, my.home country. I remember many of my friends were shocked that a profram with so much sex and violence was broadcast at 10 pm. But, ita prpeuction design, costines, photogrqphy were perfect. Also, many roles were well made and Rhys Meyers portrayed ideally Henry VIII, in a way that ai constabtly wanted to beat him up and at the same time I could feel the fear of the people aepund him, and the unpredictability and violence of his actions.

Probably was cancel because the real Borgia, Sforza, Colona, Chigi-Della Rovere still exist. Maybe they were the ones that decided it.

Everyone keeps saying that or suggesting that but I don't understand why or why they would be ashamed. It's common knowledge that renaissance/medieval europe was a cutthroat and ruthless place. It's common knowledge that medieval popes and the medieval catholic church was very very corrupt institution. What secrets could they possibly spill that people or historians don't already know?

Now its time for another rewatch I love the tudors and I think it got into researching the history this along with shows like The Crown and The Borgias present a gold standard for this kind of costume drama series in if the writer grips you and want to know more to the point where you want to research the events that is a stroke of mastery for any writer

The Tudors were a little leaning to sexploitation in the first series. But it ia perfectly understandably when the bodies of Jonathan Meyers and Henry Cavill are on screen. 😏 The show had amazing production design, costumes and very eloquent speech, and very good acting from almost everyone. I remember watching it on a Greek channel in summer 2007 and was mind lown by its freshness and lewdness. Haha

Yeah great series....great entertainment...some artistic Licence which is to be expected....(who wants another version of obese henry which as been done countless times and just turns into a Caricature)(watch a documentary if that what you after)
