DISAPPOINTING UPDATE: After only 6 years, this machine has died. The control/drive assembly was defective and rendered this entire machine useless. Speed queen refused to stand by their machine as it was "out of warranty" by one 1 year... But we didn't use it more than average... So much for most reliable brand, so much for 25 years. So much for caring about your customers who spent $2,200 on your machine! Apparently the 2015-16 models had defective drive boards but I guess they won't be doing right by me. They only offered a 20% discount code on the part but it still is a ridiculously expensive part even with the discount. Time to start looking into a different brand. Never thought I'd see the day i would be disappointed in a speed queen

@@Katheryneugh. So sorry this happened, these are expensive machines that one expects to last longer than the rest. Thanks for sharing. We’re getting close to needing a new machine and the FF7 is on our short list. However, I’ve read so much negativity about @SpeedQueenHome models, I’m tempted to get another LG. We’ve had 16 relatively trouble free years and they’re half the cost of a SQ and built in the US now, too.

Yes, see my latest video. The control assembly died, rendering this entire $2,100 machine useless. Only 6 years in... Conveniently 1 year after the warranty expires

@@Katheryne what they have found out is the shipping company hasn’t been so kind to the shipping of these machines. They offered to replace the door on this machine and I said absolutely not. I called speed queen and requested a new replacement and after about a week a new one is on the way. This is my second speed queen and I’m definitely staying with them. At the end of the day you will never find a better company. Call them and stand your ground.

This must be a 2015 model the 2016 and after have a foreign object lip so small items don't fall in between the tub and front gasket

When you press start, the lights will go off for 7 seconds and you will hear the sound from the door lid lock end start again.

It sounds like you need to find a way to bypass the light switch. Guys I am an appliance technician I sell appliances for a living and the public is being sabotaged by these big companies and it doesn't matter they can never be held accountable because big companies donate to politicians to help them get elected and then once they're elected these politicians make sure there's no regulation at all on these appliance companies. Our country is a joke guys. When is everybody going to realize this and stand up and demand change. You're spending thousands of dollars on something and it's just completely junk and it doesn't matter they don't give you your money back they don't care. It's the same thing everywhere. It's to the point in life to where manufacturers are making stuff sneakily poorly to break so they can sell more product and they're getting away with it. Seriously people you can keep putting this off and about 50 years from now your kids are going to be dealing with it on a higher level. Or you can stand up now and fight with your kids against the government. There's no difference in this government than I ran Iraq etc. We just hide it better.

I have the same model he's showing here, the machine would not do anything except make clicking sounds and the tub was full with water, would not spin or rinse or anything. i unplugged the machine for quite a while then plugged back in and within 30 seconds opened and closed the top 6 times and then rotated the dial to rinse and spin and pressed start and it began to operate normally!
