I used to fish right there 55 years ago. We’d take the Q11 bus to that park across the inlet and walk across a wooden bridge (since burned down) that would connect you to Crossbay Blvd. Would buy bloodworms or sand worms across the Boulevard. Porgy, flounder, eels (yech), occasional blackfish, small stripers. If we fished from shore we might use shiny lures when the snapper blues were in season. As a city kid, it was just nice to be out in that open space regardless of whether I caught something.

Great catch bro! I was there with my daughter the other day for the first time. I only had 30 minutes. Had a lot of bites but caught only one porgy. Used shrimp and I think hook size 2 was a little big for porgy. Ordered size 1 now. Definitely will go back again.
