Bella Schütz - Pianist

Praised for her lyrical sensitivity and powerful presence, French pianist Bella Schütz has captivated audiences at celebrated festivals including the Nohant Festival Chopin, Jeunes Talents, the Mozarteum Foundation Festival in Salzburg, Festival d’Auvers-sur-Oise, Piano en Valois, Festival Baroque de Pontoise, Concerts d’Automne (Tours), the International Chigiana Festival, and the Automne Musical de Taverny.

Her concert career spans Europe, the US, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Japan, whether performing as a soloist with orchestra, in solo recitals, or with her chamber ensemble, Trio Callas. Bella is a laureate of the Brahms Promotion at the Jaroussky Academy and a prizewinner at prestigious competitions including the Lyon International Piano Competition and Piano Campus. A frequent guest on France Musique, her debut solo album, recorded with the French label Evidence, will be released in early 2025.

Phenomenal performance! This song is difficult in places, but so much fun to play. It was one of the last pieces that I learned when I was still taking lessons back in high school. I remember performing it at our semi-annual recital; the nerves got to me so bad that I completely lost my place part way through and ended up having to restart from the beginning. One of the most embarrassing moments I've ever had and it still haunts me to this day.

A fantastic performance full of so much emotion!! Brahms can be really tricky to get right, and a lot of pianists ignore all of the tiny intricacies in dynamics and phrasing, but this whole performance is so intentional and full of life!! Bravo!
