Happy New Year! I can't believe it's almost 1 year since I first spoke to you! I got that book finally, Traces of Two Pasts 😁 I am also replaying Remake, and in 13 days Rebirth again because Rebirth is coming to PC WOO. Remake is still amazing and I have forgotten a few of these cut scenes. It feels so good playing this again and going straight into Rebirth! The graphics are so good on PC and I am even more immersed than before!! Just had to tell you, about the book haha.

If I finish Remake with a few days spare I may read it all before going into Rebirth! I probably will as I am on chapter 14 of Remake! Man Hell House is still epic! I can not wait for Rebirth again!!

Walking in the winter is tough but really nice because you definitely feel like you have deserve to cozy up once you return home. For the Steam Deck, you might have difficulties to go back to the switch because the difference of graphics is huge! I bought Disney Dreamlight Valley during those Steam sales (have you played it?) and the difference is huge. I’m regretful that I bought it on the Switch first, it was kind of a waste of money 😢

Exactly!! When you get home from a cold winter walk, you totally feel like you’ve deserved some cozy time with a cup of tea (or coffee! Or even better; hot chocolate 🤭🤎)~ Ooooh I haven’t played on my Switch once since I’ve gotten my Steam Deck, now I’m nervous for the decrease in graphics 🙈 I haven’t played Dreamlight Valley, but I can imagine it looks way better on the deck! It definitely looks like one of those games that sadly aren’t suited for the Switch; I love the Switch, but some games look awful on it 🥲 I got Garden Life for Switch last year and it looked soooo bad 😅 Then I got it for PS5, and it’s truly a beautiful game 🥰🌸 But like you, I was disappointed about the money I wasted on buying it for the Switch first 😭

Hey Lynn! Just catching up to make sure I didn’t miss any Cozy Hermit lore! Is this the longest intro without speaking?! It made for a unique vibe, especially with the nighttime outro. I loved the tiny Christmas tree and Sven and Lars the elf plushies 😂 I really relate to the Holiday spirit passing you by! My semester ended right before Christmas, so I’m not getting much time to enjoy the season. Back home, everything winds down much earlier, which makes it easier to relax. Speaking of Christmas movies, do you have a favorite? My sister and I always watch Jingle All the Way (the Spanish dub softens Arnold's accent which makes the movie sweeter). I’m glad you’re taking a winter break to recharge, can’t wait to see what’s next. Anyway, keep taking care of yourself and see you next year! PS: 3:56 So glad I came back and didn't miss this most important update 😼. 10/10 for the amount of Natsuki this week.

I haven't watched the video yet but I wanted to wish you a merry Christmas and a relaxing end of the year :) Your videos helped me to see that we can find glimpses of joy in small moments of life, without depending on others, just by being with oneself. They also helped me to ground myself when I felt anxious and all over the place. And for all your hardwork (filming and editing must take you a lot of times, with all the different angles you use!), I wanted to thank you. I hope that you don't feel the pressure to keep up this cadence, and always have fun in the process :) For the new year I want to challenge myself (softly), maybe go on a solo trip or do things outside alone in general. But as someone who likes (who think that I like?) to stay at home, I'm having a hard time bringing myself to do things like these that may enter in conflict with my personnality and be uncomfortable. I wanted to know if you have had similar thoughts and maybe wanted to tackle some objectives for this new Year too?

Merry Christmas to you too, and I hope the end of the year will be relaxing for you as well, filled with cozy and peaceful moments 🤎🙏✨ And I just want to say thank you SO MUCH for your support and wonderful words, it really means the world to me that my little channel manages to make you feel better whenever you need it 🥹🤍 Aww no worries, I’m really passionate about making videos, so it’s never really a chore - I absolutely love making them, so I gladly put in my hard work 💪 In my experience it’s best to step outside of your comfort zone when you are truly ready for it; and then I usually just do it boldly, without holding back because then suddenly the fear is just gone. It was the same for me with starting this channel; I’d been dreaming of it for years, but I was simply too scared to actually do it. And then one day I got up in the morning and I got annoyed with my dilly-dally attitude towards it, and then just took the leap 🤭 It felt so liberating!! For the new year I also want to do new (small) things for myself as well, because I don’t want to ask myself “what if” all the time. Anyways, if you end up doing those things you mentioned, I hope you’ll be able to set aside your anxiety and just enjoy it 😍🐻🤎

@@TheCozyHermit Thank you for your wise words, I always appreciate your perspective on things :) For me, I never trully know when I'm ready and I feel like I'm often delaying it. I actually started a KZbin channel (although I'm not consistent), what helped me pulled the trigger was another KZbinr who said that she started her own channel because it looked fun. I thought that it was such a nice way of viewing things. It's a mindset to have and to carefully cultivate, but it's so nice once you get there and as you said, just enjoy it!

The ‘shopping night’ concept is so fun and different, I don’t think we have anything like that where I’m from or in the US (unless you count the Black Friday midnight openings! 😹). I’ve never seen fluffy ornaments like those, but they’re surprisingly cute! And loved the music selection this week, it was as varied as the stores you visited. You looked so giddy at the start of the vlog, had you already decided on getting yourself a Steam Deck for Christmas? 👀 You said historical fantasy wasn't your favorite genre, I noticed you've been stepping outside your usual genres with your book choices lately; is that on purpose, are you trying out new things? Haha 🤣 lol, I think the Black Friday midnight openings are far more chaotic than the weekly shopping nights in Leiden 😝 Here in the Netherlands we have the same concept in every city, although on what night it takes place differs in each and every place! ☺️🤎 Nope actually, when I filmed this vlog I had no idea that future me would suddenly decide to get a Steam Deck 🤭 I was just giddy because I knew I would get to have some hot chocolate and visit a bookshop; that’s all I need to get all happy and excited 😆🧸📚 Well, I do like to mix things up with book genres I read, just like I do with watching movies and series. I always feel that things get a bit monotonous if you keep hanging around in the same genre for too long 😅 I do have my preferences of course, but sometimes it’s good indeed to try something new or to give something another go. And “The Cozy Hermit Wall” as well 🤭 Eevee and Bulbasaur were kind of a random decision of mine to add, but I thought it looks really cute too~ And yes, I love the old retro designs, it’s so nostalgic 🙏 Natsuki’s “help” is always invaluable 😂🐈 I wouldn’t know what to do anymore if she didn’t sit on top of my drawings lmao 😝 Yep, just like rabbits, cats also change fur for the winter and summer season! Gotta watch out for hairballs though, so I give her special anti-hairball treats and brush her each and every day 🫡 I’m glad you get what I meant about Christmas! It’s truly a magical season 🤎🎄 And I keep my fingers crossed for a white Christmas! Or at least ONE snowy day this winter ❄️ PS. lol yeah it’s kinda overkill, but it works haha 😂🤍

Hey Lynn! Wow, I knew you described the chaos of the renovations, but actually seeing it is something else! Your apartment was totally turned upside down 😅. I had no idea the disorder had poor Natsuki trembling! 😿 I'm impressed you guys found a way to cozy it up again. The windowsills ended up looking amazing! Yep, it was total chaos over here! I’m so glad it’s behind us 😅 And I’m especially happy for little Natsuki indeed, she just couldn’t stand the noise and the amount of people. She’s a real peace-craving homebody kitten 🥹🙏🤎 I’m glad you like how the windowsills turned out too! 😍 I forgot to mention it in the video, but we still need to fix up those awful walls in the kitchen, but we were all so tired at this point that we’ve decided to fix that up in the new year after the holidays; for now we just want to enjoy a calm and cozy Christmas 🎄😌 Lmao, now I wish I could say I AM secretly a samurai witch!! 🧙♀️ The truth is far less interesting though haha; there used to be a shop in my city that sold stuff like fake swords, because they specialized in all things fantasy (they had lots of dragon themed decor as well; things like that). Hi Uriel~!! 🐻🤎 hahaha, it did kind of look like a documentary at that point 😝 “The Cozy Hermit is an endangered species…” Yay, I’m so glad you like my stickers!! lol, maybe Natsuki did get jealous because I was drawing another cat 🐈 She’d better get used to it though, because I want to get better at drawing them, so I’ll be drawing many more cats in the future 🤭🧡 And yep, managing two IG accounts is a bit much!
