What do I do if my larks knot falls off the stick after the macrame is done?
@mosspointsnorth

Hello Danielle! Great question. I'm assuming you mean one or two have slipped off the edge of the dowel? Let's see if I can describe this in words!... You'll take each loop and fold it forward. Next, take your back ropes and rotate them in towards the center of the loop. You'll see two "holes" form where you'll be able to stick the dowel back through.

Hi Purvisha! I recommend at least a 2-foot rope to do a wrapping knot with. If you are looking for information on creating a complete plant hanger you can view my plant hanger pattern on Etsy here: www.etsy.com/listing/531669077

Hello Marty! How exciting that you're exploring macrame. The square knot is such a foundation to this fiber art and I have a specific square knot video I'd love to have you watch. It slows down the knot and will help you follow this video much better! You can view the square knot video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqmVkKF-f916gqM

you can slow it down with your settings on KZbin at the bottom of the video screen you are watching. I just found this out myself. Try it. It says playback speed. Just click and choose faster or slower.

I'm just starting to learn how to macrame and I went and bought some supplies. I haven't figured out how to hang the dowel or stick. Do I have to buy some type of hook and make holes in my wall, I'm hoping to avoid this. I'd appreciate suggestions please.
@mosspointsnorth
@mosspointsnorth 4 жыл бұрын
I typically use a clothes rack you can buy for $15 or under and then use an 'S' hook to hang my project from. When I was first starting I would hanging things from a nail at the top of a doorway, an existing nail on a wall (move artwork temporarily), or my shower curtain rod. If it's a smaller project you could try securing it with string and tape to the top of a table too!

Hello Aldana, I created this video as a resource for those taking my macrame class for clove hitch knots -- you can see the full class sample project here: tinyurl.com/5n6h9ka4 In the sample I left the ends out and knotted them so they wouldn't fray -- you can also take needle nose pliers and tuck the ends through knots on the back of your piece to hide them (or, I've also hot glued them around to the back!). Thanks for watching!
