Replaced hi limit and control thermistors, but green ready light still blinking and water not heating. Circulating pump looks fine and circuit board doesn’t look to have any issues. This is for a 2000 Hot Spring Classic Model F. Thanks in advance!

This is a GREAT video, thank you for it. I have a 2007 Jetsetter. The Moto Massage is working now, but the two rotary jets in the seat next to it still won't inject air. The jets themselves are brand new. Removing the air control levers doesn't help. Any suggestions?? I've done all the obvious things. Does that seat have a check valve involved also??

My set up is exactly like this except the ozonater has been disconnected from the circuit board and the hose is still connected to it. Will this affect the heaters functionality? I replaced my heater but it’s still not heating. PLEASE HELP🥶😖

It looks like it has a check valve already attached to the unit. Does that mean you don't need one further down the line as well or do you need both?

That is called the collar. In order to replace it you must replace all of the plumbing underneath it. Check out the Diverter Valve Body and Collar Replacement Video at Backyardplus.com

Just for those watching Step 15 is confusing. The narrator states to connect the heater Black wire to H1, & the White wire to H2. However; that is not how the technician wires the control panel in the video! This was confusing to me when trying to retrofit my model & making sure not to miswire it, had to research several other videos to finally realize that it doesn’t really matter which (black/white) wire goes where. It will work either way. Hope this helps someone else that might ever have the same question and issue that I did. But other than that excellent video. Helped a lot!! Thx.

Hi, thanks for the video. I'm upgrading from IN.JY2 to 3 I'm wired for 230 volt and I have one two speed 120v pump. Do you know if (red K7-9) (black P39) (white P19) Is right? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For 120v jet pumps: Connect the red low speed wire to K-6P, black high speed wire to K-7P, white neutral to P20 and green ground to P29.

The heater in my Watkins Tiger River hot tub was grounded and tripping the GFCI. The old heater looked like a trombone and the new style heater I found, a HydroQuip Therm Products Hot Spring Heater - 6 KW has two parallel heating tubes. The old heater did not have a pressure switch and neither does the new heater. I have everything back together and with the hot tub powered up I checked with my meter and have power to the heater but it does not seem to be heating. I'm not familiar with the PDR operation and am wondering if this is why it's not heating or did I get a bad heater?

If you have good voltage going to your heater but no hot water, it means you have a bad heater

@@backyardplus I ended up shutting off the power to the heater and the hot tub and when I turned the power back on, the heater is now heating. Is there something in the heater that reset when I cycled the power? How does PDR work? I checked out your web sight and you have loads of good information. Put you in my favorites.

When you drill into the cover, what is there for you to drill into? Does this work for all covers or do you need a cover specifically designed for the uprite lifer?

The Hot Spring covers have a metal bracket installed underneath the vinyl for you to drill into. I don't know if other manufacturers have that

I’d like to know the schematic of jumper 1 through 12 on the circuit board and what they correspond to. I think I have a bad E5 style mini circulation pump and wondered if I could confirm by putting jumpers in a mode that allows the main jets to circulate the water through the heater in cycles rather than the bad mini circ pump. I’ve done it on my dads spa but cannot find the list of what each of the 12 jumpers go to. Any input? Any way to isolate that small circ pump to see if the hot tub will start up again? Flipping the breakers on the tub tries to start but you hear a click (probably a relay) then it dies and a red light flashes on the main screen. Tapping on the e5 small circ pump causes it to start turning a little bit immediately dies thereafter. Don’t want to throw the parts cannon at it. FYI think this tub is older and the main screen does not have as many buttons as the one shown in this video.

The power flashing is called "Protection Mode". Your spa has a flow issue. It will not operate if the circ pump is bad. Replace the circ pump

@@backyardplus thanks for the reply, I already replaced the pump and that fixed it. I had hoped it was like my dads dimension one hot tub where you can change the jumper and let the main jet circulate the hot water when the e5 pump dies but apparently hot springs didn’t build that feature into it. Pricey little pump considering how small it is. Thanks again.

If the incoming voltage is 120 and you are getting 18-20 volts there, its a bad heater relay board.

Bought a new heater relay board that looks burned, found this from your link to modify the heat shield. After installing new board, still no lights on anything. I have no d9-d10 or any led lights on main board either? All new wiring and breakers. Any clue? Thank you for this video too!

If you have good voltage coming into your IQ2020 control box but no lights on the main board, it means you have a dead board. You must replace the main board and topside control panel at the same time.

If the red D9 light is blinking, its a failure of the heater relay board. You must replace the 77119 heater relay board.

My hot tub keeps tripping the breaker. I went in and found that water was leaking out of the control box. upon closer inspection, I found that water was actually coming out of the electrical wires connect to the motherboard that originated from the circulation pump! Have you ever seen anything like this? Is it safe to assume the pump has failed and allowed water to flow up through the sheathing of the electrical wires?

Yes the pump has failed. Get a new circ pump in there ASAP!

I don't think you have a software problem. Call your Hot Spring dealer. They should know what the issue is.

If the heater on light won't turn on, you have a bad temperature control thermistor or a bad topside control panel

Hello I just changed the motherboard and relay board. We got the hottub to 100+ degrees for a few days and now it wont go past 90 and the D10 light isnt on. Do I need a new control panel? Some places are saying a new heater

First check the voltage between H1 and H2. If you have good voltage, your control panel is fine. Make sure the HTR ON light is solid red on the motherboard before check voltage at H1 and H2.

If your heater is getting good voltage and your spa isn't heating up to the set temperature, its probably a bad heater. Is the green ready light or red power light flashing? If you have good voltage going to the heater, check the amperage with amp clamp around the hot wire of heater. 25 amps for 6kW, 17 amps for 4kW. Any low amperage reading indicates a bad heater.

I assume if there was no voltage spike and the heater relay board is good - only either the motherboard or control panel needs to be replaced? Do you have any tips for confirming which of these it is? Removing the control panel and turning the spa on? Or do both definitely need replaced? Thanks so much!

The heater board and motherboard must match. The old motherboards are 18v. If you are installing a new heater relay board but still using the original motherboard, set the new heater relay board to 18v.
