@HandPeopleHandPeople Yeah, that's what I meant. The notes are consistent and completely audible without triggers.
@HandPeopleHandPeople13 жыл бұрын
@wowftw19043 Triggers don't do anything for speed. I'm meaning that can you even hear them that well without triggers?
@seancpp13 жыл бұрын
@HandPeopleHandPeople I have been practicing the technique for about a year, and I am able to get pretty consistent notes at an extremely fast speed. Without triggers.

He should bust the leg on the downstroke for more consistency.

The singer seems to be doing his own thing, he doesn't pay attention to the tempo of the badn at all at the beginning and just sets it himself. Sounds pretty decent though
@sequeirax15 жыл бұрын
try taking out the toe stoppers? i did that and it helped me =D
@Itsnotlove6915 жыл бұрын
Fuck this shit! Either the singer is wasted or he's just an amateur.. It's not about to know how to shread but knowing how to SING!! Youre not bad but you still have a long way to go..

Because you don't actually use your heels to hit the pedal you use the pad of your foot both times.
@akinadom15 жыл бұрын
it doesn't matter if you can fit your whole foot on the board, it isn't necessary. Everybody, who really can perform the technique has got about half of the foot on the board and it still works great. just watch the video!

I bought Iron Cobra double bass pedals many years ago, and recently after practicing for about a month i'm really starting mastering this tech. I have an 11 and a half shoesize, and this causes me no trouble at all, if you feel uncomfortable because of the short board, try to remove the foot stoppers near the chain, it will give you more room to use this technique. Also you have to set up the pedal with the right spring tension in order to have a rebound that fits you.

You can do heel toe on cobras with toe stops and shoes on??!!
@ROSSyMOSHER15 жыл бұрын
i cant get anythin right......so wait.....the bigger the shoe size the tighter the spring tension?
@drumdigger15 жыл бұрын
Not working on my Iron Cobras Power Glide either. My feet are size 45 European or 10 US. Any advice? More spring tension?

I find that heel-toe isn't as comfortable on my own Iron Cobras as the Steve Smith Constant Release or the pedal slide. I found a few decent videos about that. Derrick Pope has a good vid that shows the Constant Release, and Spikeydrummer has a few good pedal slide instructional vids. Just thought I'd help you out, mate.

ye i need help on the heel-toe technique on my cobras, cos i dont wanna waste money an get the longboards!
@ddrumdude15 жыл бұрын
thats something that ur gonna hav to experiment with... for short bass drum blasts i use heel down, but for the constant beats like on this video, i use heel up
@ddrumdude15 жыл бұрын
i had no idea u cud do heel-toe on iron cobras... my feet must be too big, cos i cant fit the whole foot on them... i thought u cud only do heel-toe on longboards!

nice, but personly i don't like the heel toe, just doesn't give as nice clear sound as others. still good job though
@Darkcloud907116 жыл бұрын
practice with your shoe off, and gradually start playing with your shoe, you have to keep building the muscle, i had that similiar problem when starting it in my right foot.
@JFMatador16 жыл бұрын
ohh thanks, cuz I play heel down and my shin splits are naturally strong because of sports, but heel up is bothering my hip flexors since my legs are heavy, but I guess you just lift your feet right? not your entire leg?
@DannyPoolMusicandMetalworks16 жыл бұрын
It's the hard part of your foot behind your toes. When you stand on your tippy toes, you are really on the balls of your feet.
@bandarebound16 жыл бұрын
what a great singer that you have!!!! great cover!!!

A lot of people learn in jazz methods to wear shoes because you use the weight of the shoe for double bass.

Great cover, but c'mon guys, you gotta move around more when you're playing a song with a great groove like that!
@im1just1here116 жыл бұрын
how do you play with shoes??? its hard slows my speed and power
@pswinford816 жыл бұрын
Are you having trouble because of pedal length? You don't need to hit with your heel. the first stroke is basically your heel going down and your foor hits the pedal, followed by your toe hitting the second hit. I started this a month ago and am at 140 right now. It takes a while but its so much easier to play at high speeds!
@pswinford816 жыл бұрын
Heel toe does not actually require your heel hitting. The correct way to play it is the way he is playing.
@JFMatador16 жыл бұрын
God im gonna feel stupid for asking this but....whats the ball of your foot??
@PragueMeddler16 жыл бұрын
Slick job dude. Do you think you'd be able to post an instructional on how to do it effectively on the Cobras? Thanks!
