Management retiree medical is so complicated because it all boils down to years of service and when you started working for Vz. Some former managers have retiree benefits similar to the union folks, while most of us either now have nothing or a 50% benefit. it is very confusing. It would be great to have a deep dive video just for former management employees.

I worked for Verizon from 1996 to 2011. I'm I entitled to a pension? (I WAS FIRED)

Hi Walter, this depends on your age and years of service at the time of your departure. The Verizon Benefits Center is a helpful resource if you have any questions. Feel free to click the Speak with an Advisor Link in the description if you need any assistance.

I plan on retiring in 4 years at 54 years old with 30 years net credit service. I will qualify for full unreduced pension but I don’t know if I qualify for full medical benefits
@hapanowicz-financial Жыл бұрын
Hi James, thank you for your question. At 54 years old with 30 years of service, you will be eligible for your full retiree healthcare benefits. Understanding that you are 4 years away from your target retirement date, there are many advantages to getting started with the retirement planning process. Constructing a well-defined plan for your future can result in more clarity and peace of mind, and can also guide any adjustments that may be necessary now to help you in pursuit of your retirement goals. If there is anything we can do to help you as you consider your retirement planning, please feel free to call at 412-261-5966, or email at [email protected]. Best, Bobby

Do u know how long it takes to receive ur lump sum payout from ur pension plan
@hapanowicz-financial2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question, Trish! The Verizon Benefits Center will have needed to receive your Pension Election and Authorization Forms AND they will have needed to receive notification of your retirement by the 10th of the month in order for you to receive your pension benefit (either the annuity or lump sum) on or around the first day of the next month. This notification process is initiated on your “last day worked” and can take a few business days. Setting a “last day worked” that is roughly a week before the 10th of the month deadline typically provides ample time. If either of these items misses the 10th of the month deadline, you will simply receive your benefit on or around the first day of the following month. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions

Does Verizon have index funds? More specifically, an S&P500? I also don’t want an active manager.
@hapanowicz-financial3 жыл бұрын
The Verizon 401(k) Savings Plans do offer index funds. The following index funds are available in the Verizon Mid-Atlantic Savings Plan for Associates: - Passive US Equity Index MA - Passive International Equity Index MA There are also index funds available in the Verizon 401(k) Savings Plan for Management. They are: - US Large Company Index Fund - International Company Index Fund - US Bond Index Fund You can request a prospectus from Fidelity for more information about the portfolio composition of each fund.

@@hapanowicz-financial I hope Verizon offers better index funds than that for associates. I was hoping to see FSKAX or FXAIX. 🤨

What happens if someone doesn’t have anyone as a beneficiary or like if the law firm can’t find anyone to claim the belongs of the person who passed away?
@hapanowicz-financial3 жыл бұрын
Hi Mr. Williams, the answer to that question would depend on multiple factors including whether or not there is a will, what type of asset is being considered, and whether or not there are any living distant relatives, to name just a few. We recommend you consult your estate planning attorney to further explore a specific situation. Thank you for the question!
