Sir, what is the function of the "Boyesen" port hole in a two stroke engine?
@Vector2strokes
@Vector2strokes 24 күн бұрын
@@user-rb4fe1yz7m They are designed to allow more air-fuel mixture to enter the combustion chamber at a specific point in the engine's cycle, which can improve the overall flow efficiency. Boyesen ports deliver some pre-charge of mixture into the transfer updrafts which helps boost low end and mid-range torque, at no detriment to top end RPM.

You're not going to get to 40HP with that cylinder. Let me know if you want one that will. What fuel and what compression do you plan to use? If you want or need parts, let me know. @@Vector2strokes If you would like some pointers and advice, I can help. I specialized in performance YFS200 engines for some time and still do some. What are your goals and what tools do you have to work with? I am in the USA and would be happy to share information and ship parts if ever you wanted. I have shipped int'l before and haven't had issue with it. Once again, I'm happy to help. I don't need or want to make any money on it, the satisfaction of knowing I've helped is enough. Good luck with your endeavour. PS. What port durations are you planning? Wider ports that flow more but have lower duration will work better than ports with more duration but less flow. The aiming of the transfer ports is also critical, along with making sure they are symmetrical in vertical wall angles and that their horizontal port roofs match opposite port. The left and right transfers, both primary and secondary must be mirror images of each other as best you can.

Boysen ports can be used with stock carb and stock reeds?
@Vector2strokes
@Vector2strokes Ай бұрын
@@darioalcala6995 absolutely! Boyesen ports feed the transfers with pre-charge of mixture at lower RPMs so the uptake is that low/mid engine performance is enhanced with a Little more yet noticable torque and grunt, yet they do not hinder higher RPM performance

Im thinking about getting a Chinese cylinder for my 175 and porting it as you. Were you satisfied with the kit including piston or are u using your own piston? One question about the intake. Ive got yz85 vforce reeds in my oem cylinder. Bolt holes match but they are wider by about 2mm and I did have to take off some material from the sides of the intake for them to fit. Maybe 1mm each side. I could have gotten away with less but i dont have to force them in. Do the Chinese cylinders run the oem 79-81 reed block or are they already wider?
@Vector2strokes
@Vector2strokes 4 ай бұрын
Very happy with the cylinder. The casting is very soft, not like OEM. Also the bore needed to be clearanced or honed to the piston supplied or it would have seized. The OEM reed stops hit the intake duct so that needed to ground and clearanced.

When I first got a blaster I ride it for the first time and it started feeling sluggish up a hill and I parked it and it was Smokey hot and radiating heat and it had a hard time starting after that before finally having only 30 psi of compression. Right now a few months later after rebuild and cleaning out the whole bottom end and replacing every gasket except for reusing the head gasket I put a load on the motor in 3rd gear and it started knocking but still ran so it hoping it’s the gasket just blew on the base and head and it’ll work fine after replacements come

Typical head gasket leak exposed under proper leak test conditions. Head gasket leaks cause the engine to draw in air, air contains oxygen, and oxygen burns hot! This is a killer of 2 stroke engines and illustrates the importance of periodic leak testing. This particular Blaster engine suffered piston meltdown of the crown on the exhaust side as well as piston to cylinder wall seizure and rings welded/melted in place by the excessive heat.

A slight rounded radius vs the pointed star tip is desirable, about 1.2mm of total material from the star point is removed. This will not cause the bike to jump out of gear. It makes shifting easier and smoother. It does require getting used to as your shifting style will change. Excellent mod for more fun on your blaster

The oil pump does not have to be removed, but the gear does. Because the pump self lubricates with the oil it pumps, if you no longer add oil (as in premixing) the pump will seize and the gear will disintegrate and damage the gearbox
