This didn't help at all! Like could you tell us the type of clay, how and why the different pipes are made in the shapes they are made in, how ling they are in the kiln for. what you glaze them with etc... So many questions and zero answers. You do seem industrious though:)

The website says these are made in Ukraine, have you shipped many to the USA? It would break my heart if it broke on the way.
@Ceramicsmokeware
@Ceramicsmokeware Жыл бұрын
Only select items are made in Ukraine and we stock all of those in our Utah location unless it states that it is on back order. We have them securely packaged and have shipped many of the Ukraine pipes safely to us. If it does not say where it it made, or said made in the USA, that is because it is an item we manufacture in house.

When you're dipping them in glaze, is the glaze costing the inside as well? Is that hard to let all the excess drip out?
@Ceramicsmokeware
@Ceramicsmokeware Жыл бұрын
Yes, when you dip it, you can also fill the inside. It is not hard to drip out. But it can take a while to try. The other option is to clear coat the inside and let it dry for a few minutes and then plug the holes and then dip the outside so it dries and you can set it down sooner.

Why didn't you use the pipe for the 1st mold?
@Ceramicsmokeware
@Ceramicsmokeware 2 жыл бұрын
It was a template so that when I did start to make the mold with the pipe, it would come out more flat than if I used clay. You can skip that step if you want.

These are highfire pottery glaze we have and use. You can use a lowfire pottery glaze if you prefer. Lots of brands, as long as the clay and glaze are non toxic and lead free, you’ll be good(almost all clay and glaze is safe these days). You can also visit our other site artnsyn.com to see the glaze we have right now.

Can I fire this in a normal home oven?
@Ceramicsmokeware
@Ceramicsmokeware 3 жыл бұрын
An oven wouldn’t be hot enough. Especially for a water pipe. A water pipe holds water and needs to have a non porous surface so it doesn’t absorb water and hold bacteria. I’d call local pottery studios and ask if they mind you working on a pipe and firing it there. We have a few shops on our kiln locator on artnsyn.com, there might be a shop on there already near you.
