No one, short of Lavelle Edwards made me feel more welcome, or more wanted as a BYU football walk on for Spring ball 1978 than Floyd. He helped me find the right shoulder pads that I could long snap from. He helped me find the right wide width cleats so my feet would not cramp or knot up on me. He went out of his way, to take care of my temporal needs. I wish I had thought to reach out to him when I was struggling with my grades, I may not have wound up on academic suspension and flunk out of school and the program. Floyd was humble, he was compassionate, filled with charity and love for all. My life was blessed by him in small ways and large. I still have my football mesh laundry bag with my big safety pin with my locker number on it. This bag was for socks, shorts, undershirt and athletic supporter. I played Junior College ball, never had a laundry system like this. Floyd knew us all by name. He knew our laundry preferences individually. I can not name a more caring individual I met at BYU.
