Awesome competition! Glad to see the Tyrant's 'escape' code actually working and getting the little guy out of some spicy jams. There are a lot of really impressive robots/strategies this time around.

Well done! Robobson's successor, Suneater, didn't do as well as he did, but that's normal when the level of competitors increases! I was once silver, I was once bronze. Now there's only one thing left...

Spoilers under here... ... ... ALL HAIL THE KING. First Facebert in t-3rd, then Facelord in 2nd, then Faceking doing his kingly thing. Couldn't script it any better. Super psyched to finally win on of these things and my heart was in my throat for those final two battles. Props to Robobson for taking home silver and everyone else who competed!

SPOILERS ... ... ... Nooooooo. So close! Facebert made it to the Semis and lost 2-3, Facelord made it to the Finals and lost 2-3... there's only one thing left to do, I suppose. Build Facetyrant and win the whole damn thing. Congrats to TheStrongOne! Close one, good one! GG.

Great platform to learn some robotics concepts, compete and have fun! We used your platform to welcome the new members of our robotics' team and the results were the competitors BauBauBau, ROKKETO and NeonWebNemo. During these dificult times where we can't put our hands together on PCB boards and robots structures together simulations takes place at least for education purposes! We are please to have such a simple and useful solution as Roboton to work with, thanks for the platform! A huge thanks from Project Neon, Brazilian Robotics Team from University of ABC

why was my bot(I did ok, that was its name) not in this?
@potatoman83234 жыл бұрын
I may be because of two different reasons The first is the to compete it must pass the box test. The second reason is that to enter, you have to go click on the competition, click join, and the code a robot from there.

@@tgirlpride2024 Can you send me a message through the question mark button on the roboton.io website? I can take a look at it, but I think @PotatoMan is right. You probably made a general sumo design and have not submit it to the competition. We will try to make this more clear in the future. Luckily there is already a new competition roboton.io/ranking/vsc2021-I

Nice! Unfortunately I have lost on eight-final, btw, do anyone knows if the robot codes will be made available for download? Some years ago I entered some other programming challenge tournaments (CoreWars, anyone?) where all the codes were always available to improve knowledge sharing and better understand why you won over some and lost from others..
@potatoman83234 жыл бұрын
From what I can tell, I don't think they are sharing the code. Also congrats on top 16! By the way, what robot did you enter with.
@roboton-io77684 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, I understand your point, but at this moment we don't share the code. Maybe some other time ...
@AlexPalmese4 жыл бұрын
@@roboton-io7768 I understand your decision but I disagree, at least on this pretty simple Sumo challenge. Code sharing is essential to let anyone test their robots against the strongest ones. On CoreWars I was able to test my codes against the first world championship oarticipants. And as sumo is a few seconds match on a simple round arena, it doesn't involve any special or innovative programming solutions to be kept "secret". CoreWars had its worldwide success due to both its easy to learn language, like sumo, but also to code sharing, for the reasons I explained before. I'm sorry to say I won't participate again to Sumo without code sharing, and I think many other won't, because there's no way to improve our robots if the only opponent to test on is the random one or a self-written robot. A different situation can be car race, where, even if fhe "open source" philosophy IMHO is always the best approach for a quick and efficient improvenent, the "opponent" is the timer (i.e. you can test you car over many tracks and check the timings, no real need of a real opponent). It involves a huge number of programming problems and possible solutions (hundreds of times than those simple Sumo micro-robots), so I think there's no need to keep the code "secret", and as Sumo is a way to have more people join roboton project, an "open" behaviour will greatly improve Roboton diffusion. I hope you'll agree with me, because I really'd like to see Roboton spread with thousands of fans!
