i remember watching this live! oh how i wanted them to get the record! had they just laid out 100 yds of spaghetti total per the record as it was read by hooligan, i think the 4 of them would have had a decent shot! oh well, they tried and it made for great drama!

I grew up in Michigan and these guys made an impression on ME -- just from watching them with my Ohio cousins on visits. I wish I could see their satire of the "Salvo" laundry detergent commercials. Remember "Salvo" detergent? It was like a compressed disc of detergent, and you'd throw one of these discs in with your laundry, and the commercials had a big giant ancient Greek- or Roman-looking fist coming up from the washing machine, presumably to show the stain-fighting "power" of the detergent. Anyway, in the "certain ethnic" version of this commercial, the fist would come up from the machine, but a bra was stuck on it, and the fist had to nervously shake it off. Comedy Gold. Damn that was funny.

Growing up in the early 50's and 60's in Cleveland, I used to crack up watching Big Chuck & Hoolihan. and The 'master, Ernie 'Ghoulardi' Anderson. Those guys put Parma on the map. Those were some very good days and you were proud to be a Clevelander. The only thing missing is the Papa Oom Mow Mow" clip that The Ghoul used to throw in. John Adams Rebels '65
