There’s only a ~2 km stretch of straight, divided double lane hwy between Fox Creek and the Big Stone road that leads into these rig locations. The Big Stone is radio controlled/monitored and security patrolled, enforces harsh fines and road access prohibitions for and/or from the first offence, while both Ensign and Chevron have some of the strictest (0 tolerance) policies in the industry. I know a couple of these guys personally (Tony and Evan) and have ran casing with them on both of these rigs many times, they’re great guys with families they want to get home to, and are model examples of our (Canada’s/Alberta’s) expertise in this industry. The guys you’re talking about are probably working for Savanna drilling or Bonavista because they’re too coked out for Chevron, Shell, Ensign, Tourmaline, etc, and those companies (Bonavista/ Savanna) are among the few that will take the bottom of the barrel skids who ruined their chances with the better companies mentioned.
