Both Scott & Annie were wrong. Here’s a fun fact: Mike was played by Joseph Sikora (Tommy from Power).

This movie had to be an inspiration for "Pootie Tang". Just that scene in the beginning with Queen Bee and the Warden. Queen Bee alone is basically Biggie Shortie (Wanda Sykes).

They had that neon glow way before Vin Diesel! 😂😂 This also made me think of No Man's Land (1987) about the auto theft ring that only targets Porsches - a fun 80s actioner if you haven't seen it. * also "Great Value John Travolta" made me spit my drink! 😂😂😂

The perso. You dated was right im from paterson and paterson and newerk was and still is worst than what the Is movie showed and when the judge said he would send him to jamesburg to serve time that brought me back to my youth because i was sent to jamesburg a few times in my youth growing up in paterson NJ and people have to realize when it comes to car thieves in newerk and paterson that unlike most places and most kia boys who steal cars just to ride around in that newerk and paterson has always had chopp shops so most car thieves only had the cars they strleal for 20-30 mins and that was just the time it takes to get to the chopp shop to sell that car and thats why newerk had the highest crime rate for stolen cars in the whole country but arrest rate for car theft didnt match the stolen car rate

I wish I saw this review first. I thought this movie was going to be good and deep. Just another cash grab exploiting black trauma. So many plot holes that never got explained. And after the major scene with Jasmine 👀.... I was fuming. The movie is a waste. I'm so mad they dragged Regina Hall into this.

I'm from the Midwest too and back then I had a huge crush on all the guys in the movie, "Sunset Park" with those New York accents. Whew. I forgot Heavy D was in this movie I love his acting roles, especially on Living Single.

I am actually from New Jersey and was a teen when this came out. Car jackings were big in Newark, Camden, and Trenton at this time. The only thing the film left out were all the white kids doing the same thing. I did appreciate the portrayal of the crooked cop. He was extremely accurate

I've seen this once or twice. You're right, it's a complex story. Kyle laughed at Jason, but I bet he wished he had a mom to fuss & worry about him! Jason made dumb choices just to be down, but even with a more stable life than Kyle, he felt somewhat hopeless. Those '90s movies show the bleak part of coming of age in the hood.

From Paterson, New Jersey......20 min from Newark.. at one point Newark was the stolen car capitol of the world... Hard to explain just had to be there or experience the era..80' and 90's...Not gonna lie the movie hit different now that I'm older.

"This was a thing in the 90s" Try Strange Days, also 95, for it's use of police violence against minorities in a dystopian near future cyberpunk thriller, with Angela Basset and her Tina Turner muscles 💪

This movie is a Tier 2 hood classic. Juice came out in 1992. Here are some fun facts: Jason’s mom was in House Party & Greater Value Jay Pharoah was on New York Undercover. Sharron Corley & Gabriel Cassius also appeared on New York Undercover as well. I would like to request the following movies: South Central Fresh

Happy Belated Birthday. The lil' pictures of you when you were super young were super, super sweet. You were a little angel. My favorite part of the movie was ... *Yo, yo...you tryna BRING IT TO ME!!!????* He was so offended. Like there is supposed to be protocol with thugs and dog just disregarded it. He was ready to take his head off.

There's also a 1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead that was directed by Tom Savini. He's one of the lead bikers featured here but he's also the special effects whiz behind this movie and a lot of others around this time.

Went to see this movie in the theater when it came out and loved it. Tom Savini who played the Machete wielding Motorcycle Gang leader was a combat photographer in Vietnam. He was also the special effects person for this movie. Savini said his wartime experiences influenced his eventual style of gory effects: He said that he hated that when he watched a war movie and someone dies. Some people die with one eye open and one eye half-closed, sometimes people die with smiles on their faces because the jaw is always slack. He incorporated the feeling of the carnage that he saw in Vietnam into his work. BTW, that was George Romero in the beginning sitting next to the young lady at the TV station who said "get me another list". RIP to David (Fly Boy) Emge who passed earlier this year.
