Bloodstone is one of my favorite stones (actually my birthstone). In is one of the 5 crystals I carry with me all the time. Bloodstone has many types, but the two most common are Heliotrope mostly found in India (deep green or greenish blue with small red spots), and Seftonite/Setonite aka African Bloodstone mostly found in Madagascar (greyish blue with big red spots, sometimes with blue chalcedony and specks of pyrite). I use African Bloodstone for my personal use. Bloodstone has a hardness of around 6.5 and actually fairly resistant to water, but I advise avoid exposing it to water as some of it can rust and its luster will disappear over time. Bloodstone is safe under the sun but avoid mid-day direct sun to avoid damaging the stone and prolong it's life. Keep bloodstone away from small children as it has toxic substances in it. Also never expose it to salt (it will rust and ruin the stone) Bloodstone is said to heighten intuition and boost courage. As a healing stone it helps with blood rich organs and blood diseases. It is also a fountain of youth and longevity. In India they pulverize bloodstone and use it as an aphrodisiac until this day. As a protection amulet, bloodstone protections the wearer from various diseases. It protects also from deception, from assault, threats, bullying, physical injuries and accidents. That's why warriors in ancient Greece, Rome and India use bloodstone to polish theirs swords and keep it close to them during battle. Bloodstone is a good luck charm of the athletes. It boosts stamina and athletic performance in athletic competitions. I cleanse my bloodstone by smudging twice a month (new moon and full moon). It is best charged in sunlight and moonlight (from late sunset then overnight under the moon until early sunrise). This stone aided me so many times in my life.

I bought it at VERNEUILLAB. It is in South Korea. You need to ask there if they have what you are looking for. I bought this synthetic alexandrite for 100,000 won (about $76), but the one I bought now is out of stock.
