Thanks. It is my first ever hotel review. I am going to review all the hotels where I stayed.

Great hotel but a fair distance away from the action.

Actually it's not. It's less than a ten minute walk to the Soi 6 bars.

@@retirednomad247 I am use to walking less than 5 minutes to the bars in Central and the Gents Clubs. I rarely venture Soi 6. Thanks for the response.

@@retirednomad247that’s not bad at all. Walk there and then get a ride back after the drinks.

Because it is on a small alley street with no traffic, it is quiet on your balcony and in your room. For some hotels right in the middle of the action, you pay the price with noise late into the night that you can hear in your room.

I realize that you’re new to making KZbin Videos but I think you’re doing an excellent job. Very interesting content, great video and audio - Great Channel.

Nice apartment for sure especially for that price and includes everything. What visa will you apply for if your staying long term in Colombia. It seems like the long term visas are complicated because they only give it for a year and each and every year you need to travel back to the USA to start all the visa process all over again with updates translated documents.

You get three months visa free and you can extend for another 3 months but there is a limit of 6 months for the calendar year. I am happy to stay for three months on this visit and move on to another country to explore!

Nice video. I like how you started with the budget.

I just wanted to give people a sense of what it would cost to live in Medellin for one month with a decent apartment and eating good food.

@@retirednomad247yes. Well done. I watched the whole video.

Dude, listening to you talk about not making any friends is why you dont have any friends. Who wants to hang with someone that sounds bummed out. Get involved with some volunteer activities and watch your problem get fixed.
@retirednomad2472 ай бұрын
It isn't that I don't have friends. I have friends that have moved away. 'When you are in your 60s, it is just much harder to make new friends and travel can make a difference. I've made a number of new friends since retiring and traveling. That is the point of the video. I am just not used to doing voice overs for videos. I'll get better with time.

What you might try doing is starting a small business in one of these countries also, make working relationships.
@retirednomad2472 ай бұрын
Starting a new small in one of these countries is a smart idea if you want to start a business and you are going to stay in that country for a while. I plan on staying in a country for a few months before moving on to another country.

I speak very little Spanish how much English is spoken there? Is ot worth going if your Spanish is very very limited or do you suggest another Latan American country?
@retirednomad247 Жыл бұрын
There is limited English spoken in Colombia. But in the places where gringos visit, such as hotels and higher end restaurants, there may be an employee or two who speaks some English. I only speak a little Spanish but it is getting better with each trip. I find Google Translate on my cellphone to be very useful to be able to communicate with others in Colombia.
