My father (Irish American) visited Ireland in 2017 and really did not care for Ireland! He only liked the cliffs of Mohr I still want to visit Ireland some day

Hi! I’m so glad I found your channel, it’s very interesting and “hits close to home” 😅 I’m also living in Vienna, but I got a job offer which would require relocating to Dublin, so I have to think about. Could I somehow send you an email with some (I promise) very short questions about the city and the system, if that’s alright? 😅

Is it because, you don't have a job there or other reasons/ problems that you can not solve in Ireland?
@WineAndRum23 күн бұрын
The comments disappeared on the other video, but we're living in Vienna, Austria now. Part of the reason we left was that Vienna had a better living opportunity for us. There's some personal stuff too, but not sharing that online. The housing crisis was definitely one of the reasons.

For me, travel has always been somewhere Europey :) but you guys have opened my mind to the possibility of a first-time Japan trip...
@WineAndRumАй бұрын
Ha yeah, even for folks like us that consume a bit of Japan media and culture, it was so different from Europe or the Caribbean, that everything was like an adventure.

Meeting locals is the best ways to experience the culture firsthand. When traveling to Osaka, I recommend joining one of my meetup events. It’s a rare opportunity to meet and talk to locals in English
@WineAndRumАй бұрын
We didn't say it in this video, but Osaka definitely had a vibe that we liked, admittedly more than Tokyo based on our brief time in Japan.

@linuxman7777Ай бұрын
I spent way less than that for my friend and I, but we spent very little time in Tokyo and Osaka, costs are much lower in the smaller cities usually, although Osaka can be affordable in some seedy areas.
@WineAndRumАй бұрын
Agreed that it can be much cheaper. We definitely took some comfort options as it was a first time visit and for a celebration. But true, Tokyo was where most expenses were.

How can we get Apple and Google to pay for public transportation like that in Ireland?
@WineAndRumАй бұрын
I'm not sure. I know they use Apple Watch to pay for the train but not Google in Japan. Most Japanese still use cards like the LEAP card. I'm not sure if it's the machines or what. Some train lines in Japan actually don't want to pay for the maintenance of the gates so they're switching to QR codes in the future. I think it's about the infrastructure and costs and if any fees are involved that are holding back paying with the phones.

For a country with such a rapidly aging population, it's incredible that the locals would just ignore an elderly person like that.

We hope that it was an isolated incident and that in non rush hour people are more observant. But rush hour feels like every person for themselves.

You did not decorate your door with those, did you? Imagine the neighbours' reaction. 😂 Yeah, they're for graves. As are this type of candles.

Almost. I was legit looking at them to see if any of them were good enough to buy for December 😅

@WineAndRum The ones for christmas are nicer. 🙂 They'll start popping up soon, if they're not there yet . I never thought about it being something regional or cultural. Christian, sure. But apart from that? So I learned something, too. (While also loving the image of some fictional, scandalized old neighbour. 😂)

Hi ! Are ypu able to shop and visit other areas (for food/gifts) even if you dont have a timed entry ticket for the ride?
@WineAndRum2 ай бұрын
Yes you are, except for Super Nintendo World. You need to have entry to get into the area. But for Harry Potter we just walked right in.

Apart from the heat and the lack of language options for the rides, it looks like an awesome experience. I would love to visit the Harry Potter theme set. What was your favourite part of Universal?
@WineAndRum2 ай бұрын
We think it may be the Demon Slayer section mostly because of the food and the 4DX rollercoaster we didn't show in the video. There's also a Harry Potter Studio tour in Tokyo we didn't get to go to but our friend who lives there told us it's an even better experience than the theme park.

We ate a bit of different stuff. We took more photos than video of them so who knows if we'll make a video but we ate a lot of udon with different sets of tempura - sweet potato, fish sticks, sweet pepper. A lot of takoyaki, snacks like sweet potato pie from Family Mart, different types of mochi, rice, salmon, eel, sushi. Lots of matcha dishes - noodles, lattes, daifuku etc.
