I would have backed the kickstarter but it was too expensive for me, so happy I didn't. I did get the mass market and thought it was blurry. But seeing the kickstarter the mass market looks so much better. I do know that the kickstarter was her second attempt. I'm done with kickstarters unless I know who it is. I have one from over a year ago, they even showed the decks that came in, but no more updates for months, apparently we all lost our money. I feel your pain. But atleast you did receive something , if that makes you feel better. If I were you I'd pack it up, use the mass market and maybe someday it will become a collectors deck and you can get some of your money back ! I did get the Wild Reflection Kickstarter , you do know one of the cards are numbered wrong ? They said they would replace the card after trying to send a different guidebook. What they did was send me a mass market deck instead. So I put up the indie and am using the mass Market. 🫶

Went looking for other flipthroughs of this one after seeing the mass market on someone else's channel. I completely understand why you're upset, with how thin the cardstock is, how delayed it got, the amateur design work, etc. but if it were me, as someone who has worked in print media, who has an appreciation for tarot mostly for the art, and who didn't have to go through the irritation of participating in the project, I'd choose the kickstarter one. You see something low contrast or washed out in the kickstarter version, but I see cards that have been made so dark they've lost many details in the mass market one. Look at the background on the hermit, or the hair on strength, depth of foliage on the devil, the grass behind the figure in the moon. They've overtuned it and lost a lot of very delicate details from the original artwork, and your comparison has made me doubt if I want the deck, a.) because I don't like kickstarters that disrespect the people who supported them (I'm a superbacker), and b.) they've done a major disservice to the artwork on the mass market copy, imo.

I received my copy a few days ago also. Isn't it so pretty. I love the books so much as well. 💖

I feel so much empathy for you. You have every reason to be upset. I would've been heated if a better and cheaper mass market edition was out before I got my cheaply made deck. I had a similar experience with my first Kickstarter I backed--Mystic Mondays. Though she didn't sell it Mass Market, it was available in subscription boxes & some indie stores before I got my deck. Interestingly, the only other time where I backed a Kickstarter that also came out mass market at the same time was a Wyspell. (Their Neofeminine tarot.) It was a different experience though b/c I think the kickstarter and one available on Amazon cost practically the same. And it looked like the same quality deckwise. Plus, I think Wyspell uses Kickstarter to get guaranteed sales for their mass market decks. I was slightly annoyed b/c I use Kickstarter to back true indie creators.

The mass market seems to be better than the indie deck I hate it when the mass market comes before the indie for the fraction of the price. The creator is a bit naughty. She must have known it was going mass market❤

Wow. Honestly, in most situations, I would get the mass market edition. I'm not partial to the fancy editions of things. But I can certainly appreciate your consternation about this. Doesn't sound like the best decision on creator's part.

You have some beautiful oracle decks. I love the golden lenormand deck the archetypes are so clear ❤ I use my oracles both combined and separately ❤

AI is a tool, and any tool can be used honestly or nefariously. If a creator takes another creator’s art and uses AI to alter it, that’s wrong. If a creator takes their own art, words, thoughts, and gives it to AI to help create the vision, that’s different. There is a huge misconception about AI, and I’m so glad to hear I’m not the only one who isn’t staunchly against it! That said, The Healer card definitely looks like it came from the Green Witch Tarot 😂 It’s a beautiful deck, though, and the guidebook entry for the Lover was beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
