Nice catch, I'm fairly certain these were brand new Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV's) heading to Fort Riley, KS.

Nice video this is train #1 of at least 2 carrying the Iowa Army National Guard's 1133rd Transportation Co; 734th Regional Support Group from Mason City, IA. Destination is very likely to be Manly, IA. Which is where they loaded out on Sept-19-20, 2022 before going to Ft McCoy, WI then deploying to Poland on November 6, 2022 as part of Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce.

It was a donation to the Boone and scenic valley railroad. Since they had a change of plans and weren’t going to go through Boone they dropped it and flatcars with passenger car trucks off at council bluffs to hitch a ride on a freight train

CN bought the line in 1999 from Illinois central and runs 3 to 4 trains a day. The longer ones usually come down from Canada as a short cut

I see these tracks all the time but I never knew that trains actually ran on them the last one I saw was a big csx at Sturgis by the icehouse
@Dexter11427 жыл бұрын
Alex Klingfus yes the Iowa Northern frequently use those tracks to service CFU. They rarely go over there anymore. Usually CFU stores cars for them. The track that runs by the ice house is the Canadian National main line. Trains run daily through there. There are lots of train traffic on the CN main.
