The book was a love letter to the 80s with a heavy influence on video video games. The movie was more general pop culture with a focus on Warner Bros properties. Which I didn't mind. I'm fine with some of the changes like the race because it still conveyed the same things we learned in the book, like how Parzival sees things differently because he's just as obsessed and in love as Holliday was

I think there is a lot of anger in Matt, but the show never gives us the answer as to whether he actually enjoys violence, it lets us decide for ourselves what it really is. I think there is no easy answer. It is more of an outlet for that anger. Notice that he starts beating up the guy who tried to shoot the girls as they were running away, really hard, because that unleashed his anger, unleashed "his devil." And I personally don't think he really enjoys it, but he uses not only violence but also fear as a tool. And the fact that people interpret many things in this show differently and often discuss it is a testament to its class. A truly great show, definitely one of my favorites, maybe even my favorite.
@moviesarespiritual27 күн бұрын
I think you're right, there's just so much to talk about in the show in comparison to similar superhero shows. I love how it has so many layers. Even the three of us on the podcast had some different interpretations of the same scenes!
@urszulas.220527 күн бұрын
The hallway scene is done in one take, without cuts. Both Charlie Cox and his stunt double have said this. Only the actor and stunt double switched places a few times. A similar scene in season two was edited and was only supposed to look like one take, but in season three there is an even longer fight scene done really without cuts. Charlie Cox also said that they shot all day and did a lot of reshoots to get the best effect. And the bruise on the eye doesn't really matter to Matt's "sight" because he's blind.
@moviesarespiritual27 күн бұрын
That scene was just masterfully done. I was thinking when I first saw it about how difficult it would be to pull off all of those stunts without messing one up and ruining the whole scene! Then when I saw the longer scene in Season 3, I thought, "they're going for it!" Like this scene was a record to be broken!

I like to think the movies from part four and on take place in a floating timeline. That’s why it’s always the 80’s. The New line Cinema films take place in another universe separate from the Paramount movies.

That's not at all what happened with Robin. They didnt kill him off just to retcon him back because they wanted to. The fans voted for him to be killed off. The creator wanted to bring him back, and the reboot was a great opportunity for that. With a somewhat logic explanation.

Fourth Kind is an Amazing absolutely brilliant Genius of movie. Those who sue over it can fuck off. There's absolutely nothing wrong with blurring the line between reality and fiction as a creative tooll. Blair Witch and pretty much every found footage movie does this.

I did really like how they turned found footage into a hybrid style. Pretty innovative at the time!

They sued becuase the flim falsley attributed stories the "real story" was based off to The Nome Nugget. They never asked, the publisher saw this and asked several times to take those ads down they refused so they sued. Perfectly valid reason for them to sue don't support hollywood bullying small towns and small town establishments becuase you liked the movie thats disgusting. Edit: if you did not understand this before it should be a lesson to try and understand peoples reasons before saying they "can fuck off"

I can break down the style, genre, tone, narrative points and most other artistic elements from a movie. I have written published poetry and worked on successful computer games. I will engage you in a debate topic ranging from post-modern feminist art to the impact native African art had upon the culture and sensibilities of the British empire under Victoria. I also used to be an admin for the DVLA and the NHS. I have a very autistic set of skills. If you want to run your mouth off about Jason X or Death Machine, then that is fine. But know these two things: I will find you. And I will shitpost you. (Subject to regional laws based on perceived hate crimes. Laws and Conditions apply. This is a comedy product. No people with autism or category disorders were hurt making this post). Seriously though, it's really nice to see that most of the people in the comments actually got the joke. I've rarely coughed with laughter so hard when me and my ex-wife watched the co-eds being beaten against the tree in the simulator. God my ex was vicious. I miss her so. Fun times. Where was I? Oh yeah - good video. <3 TL:DR - Jason X is a parody that is better paced and more fun than basically every other grim, predictable slasher flick in the series. It's not very cannon - but it is fun.
